4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / molotov on: March 10, 2009 04:44:33 PM
hmm. well the poem was written back when i used to listen to lotsa RATM. the image comes from a chick i met on deviant art, ecxept her girl was holding a gun not a molotov cocktail. the poem gets a little unlegible down towards the white lettering. maybe i'll go back and fix that some other time... cheers! :

here's the text of the poem:

nothing will turnover,
erupt or upheave
so long as i sit
and i sulk and i grieve.
i must turn my turmoil
into fuel for the flame,
engulfing the lie that claims
"all are the same.
all are as equals
and none are omitted."
while most are denied
the rich are permitted.
amen to all mankind who quit & submitted.
5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / ima robot on: March 10, 2009 04:32:43 PM
hey guys. it's been long time i feel since i've posted anything. my camera broke & as if my photography skillz weren't already bad enough, i had to borrow a digital oldie to take pics of my newest pieces. but anyway, this robot i'm quite happy with. the biggest piece i've embroidered so far. it was for an art gallery in my town that has monthly themes. this month's was "robots"! so here's whut i came up with. hope ya'll like it! happy crafting to all! :

6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / ?!MORE MITCH O' CONNELL?! on: November 29, 2008 03:28:20 PM
it's a catfish!  Wink Roll Eyes

here's a coupla blurry closeups because my photography skillz are lame :

i used silk threads for her body to give it a shimmery fish scale sheen. and somehow in the pictures the shell looks sort of silky & shimmery too but it's just regular embroidery floss. the little martini olive is my favorite. hope you guys like it! i'll prob be turning this one into a wallet as well. happy crafting everyone!!!
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / poor poor pitiful me on: November 04, 2008 11:28:59 PM

8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / dia de los muertos/ sugar skull inspired by sylvia ji on: September 30, 2008 03:56:39 PM
here is the badass work of sylvia ji :

and here's my attempt at turning it into embroidery :

the black of the eyes and nose is felt

and the petals in the chin are fishbone stitch

all the rest of the colored work is satin stitch & uhm i don't really know what the name of the stitch is for the black hair & face Huh Roll Eyes

hope ya'll like it! p.s. i was thinking of entering this in the fall contest thingy but i don't really know where i'm supposed 2 post it? any advice?
9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / a drunken flower ( warning : contains the "f" word ) on: September 12, 2008 03:59:43 PM
soon to be made into a wallet. to balance out the use of a "bad" word i tried to make it sort of pretty by placing the phrase inside a flower and adding beads. the phrase is a little blurry in the pic. it says "hungover as fuck" which is kind of poor grammer but when yer hungover ya don't really care, right? hope ya like!

sorry about the bad pic quality. i wish you guys could see the detail in the lil blue leaves. it's the fishbone stitch which is new 2 me...
10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / LACY SKULL ! on: September 06, 2008 12:25:13 AM
i've been on a skirt kick lately. found one @ the thrift store the other day for a buck. dyed it blue, but it still needed something more so i made this skull for it. the material was super stretchy so some of the cracks in his skull got all bunchy Roll Eyes ......

here's le skirt :

and fer no good reason at all here's a pic of the lacing process
(the first time i've ever tried 2 get fancy w/ lace, how'd i do? ) :

hope you crafty ladies ( and gents) like it, thanx 4 lookin !
