41  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: First time resin user - lots of images on: October 26, 2008 09:06:11 PM
Funny I should get another post on this.  I did do something simple with them because I wanted to have them out at a craft show I was doing.  I made simple sun catchers.  I still want to make an ambient light.  Drawer pulls are a great idea!  If I lighten up the dye a bit they could be good.  Actually the next round I am going to make clear and add drops of red instead to see how that turns out.

Here is a pic of the sun catchers.

Thanks for your reply.  When I get around to that project again I'll post about it!

47  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: The random RESIN question thread! on: October 19, 2008 07:51:57 AM
I hope this is the best place to post...

For those that have been making resin pendants,etc...

What is your preferred method for dealing with the curved back and sharp edges?
Do you just sand or pour resin onto the back to fill the concave?  Or do you do both?
If so, sand after pouring or before?
Do you use the pour on resin or just the castin' craft (or similar)?

Thanks! I've made a few pieces for a pug show that I am going to and want to finish them off nicely.

I love these.  Do you stamp the text on clay before you bake?  I'm looking at the "handmade" one.  I need to make little tiny rectangles with small words on them.  Your clay handmade is more/less what I am thinking.

Beautiful pieces and very unique!

Great idea - add that to the never ending list of future project ideas...

I love all of them, but especially LOVE both that are in the bowl shape.  The bird and my absolute favorite is that bullseye, concentric circle/bowl ring.  Very cool!
