1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Celebrating true love~ on: April 27, 2011 09:51:59 PM
So adorable.

Also thanks for the info about the weights of fabric you used, and putting the bit of batting into stabilize.  Very clever, and it seems to have worked well.  And, I love how nicely you finished off the back.
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Glee - Pavarotti - embroidery on: April 27, 2011 09:48:36 PM
I really love your idea of planning it out on the computer.  I am also not an artist, but that might just work for me.  Also, the lettering is very nice.  Overall, awesome!
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Confirmed? Plausible? Busted? Mythbusters Hoops! on: April 27, 2011 09:46:04 PM
I have to second the suggestion to tweet this to the mythbuster guys.  It is just too cool and original.
4  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: Show me your unappreciated etsy work! on: April 26, 2011 09:26:59 PM
I keep renewing this item because it's one of my favourite necklaces.  I like to wear it.

Modern Red and Purple Wood Necklace

I would try putting the picture of this necklace on the model as the main picture.  The shot with the model is very cool, and definitely gives more a sense of how you would wear such a unique piece.
5  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Just Released: 2011 Indie Craft Trend Report by Craftster on: April 26, 2011 08:45:18 PM
Very helpful and informative.  I especially appreciate the list of favorite websites, as I hadn't checked out a few of them.  Thanks.
6  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Baby Monsters! Very basic amigurumi -- EDIT: Photo-tutorial added! on: April 25, 2011 09:38:59 PM
I love these.  I MUST make some for my toddler.  He will declare them balls and throw them everywhere, which will be all the cuter with their darling monster faces.
7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: My fierce but friendly really Dragon - with pattern! on: April 25, 2011 09:30:51 PM
Thank you so much for this pattern!

I have made three of these..one for each of my sons, and one for my nephew.  My 4 yo sleeps with his dragon almost every night.  Cutest thing ever.

With the way you've made the increases sort of random instead of dictated, I've found each of my dragons to come out with their own little personalities.
8  Washington / Washington: West / Re: seattle fabric stores on: April 25, 2011 09:22:48 PM
There is a really cute fabric store in Wallingford called Fabric Crush that has a lot of bright, mod-ish prints, Amy Butler sort of stuff and fun vintage remakes.  I went up there the other day to visit with a friend and found totally cute fabric for an apron that I have promised her.  And there is a cool looking yarn shop right next door.
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re: Crocheted Headband and Felt Flowers on: April 25, 2011 09:14:57 PM
I love these!  I made cupcake clips the other day for my daughter...they would work perfectly for a baby on the crocheted headband. Very cute.
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re: What can I make with fleece besides blankets? on: April 25, 2011 09:08:47 PM
Great ideas!
And you can make slippers.  There are a lot of cute, very simple patterns for slippers.

Softies are really fun to make, and kids really like them, especially when they know that you made them just for them.
