21  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Valentine's D.I.Y. On The Cheap on: January 19, 2011 01:58:15 PM

I made this cute little Valentine's Rose heart to hang, using all free to me supplies.  All it takes is a little ribbon, some cardboard and hot glue.  You can find a tutorial here: http://diylouisville.blogspot.com/2011/01/valentine-diy-on-cheap.html

These are great! They look fun and easy to make too. I think they would also be cute on a headband Smiley.

Thanks for the inspiration.

I totally agree.  Last night at our craft meet up we were talking about the same thing, either using them as a headband or hair pin.  I think I might do one in red to wear to a Christmas party this weekend!

I've made a boatload of these felt poinsettia Christmas ornaments, they sew up really quick and are a great way to incorporate some special vintage buttons.  The tutorial can be found at http://diylouisville.blogspot.com/2010/12/poinsettia-ornament-tutorial-christmas.html

I'm glad you liked it petskin.  Also thanks for the compliment on my blog.  I would love to post pictures but I totally forgot to take any before I sent it out!  I think yours are fine though.  The bat guys should have been on a spiral of wire coming out of the roof.

I'm glad you liked it petskin!  I was really worried about shipping it, after I made it I realized it was super delicate.  I even tried double boxing but I guess it didn't help. Sad  Well I hope it wasn't too much trouble to assemble.  The little ghostie does go on the chimney.

I received from petskin today.  It's such a great house.  I love all the details she put into it and the cool different mediums that she used to compose it.

The pictures aren't the best, since it was late when I took them and the lighting was not good.  I may try and take some better ones tomorrow.

The outside of the house.  I love the cute red door and little witches broom on the front

one side, with a cute little feather pumpkin

another side with a bird and scary spider!

the roof, which seems like it is made somehow out of a doily that is painted, I might be wrong so maybe petskin can tell us.

The awesome inside, there is a little black and white rug, a picture on the wall and the word "enchanting"

And finally, my favorite part, this cute little fellow.  My kids love him and so do I, he has so much personality!

Thanks so much Petskin!  We all really love this great house and it will have a place of honor in our Halloween decorations for years to come.
