11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Virgin Mary Dresses on: February 13, 2011 05:37:51 AM
I love, love, love those dresses!  They are so cute and look like you would have paid a fortune for them.  Great idea.
12  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / D.I.Y. Dessert Table on a Budget on: February 11, 2011 03:50:26 AM

On Wednesday my friend Julee and I threw a little surprise Valentine's party for the kids after school.  We put together a red and white themed party for under 30 dollars.  The best part is the almost everything was store bought, even the cake and cupcakes were from a mix.  So this party was cheap and quick to throw together.  We wrote up a detailed post about everything at our blog: http://diylouisville.blogspot.com/2011/02/diy-dessert-table-on-budget.html

Here are some of the features of the party

Red soda, that we decorated with scrapbook paper

cupcakes with suckers for toppers

strawberries filled with cheesecake filling

red velvet cake decorated with store bought candy on skewers

Thanks for looking-Kim
13  COOKING / Dessert / Valentine's Day Rice Crispy Candy on: February 07, 2011 04:56:07 AM

The other day I had a party to go to and very little time to make something to take, but I wanted to make something cute.  I threw together a batch of rice crispy treats and then shaped and molded them into traditional V-day candy shapes, like what you get in a box of chocolates.  I dipped them in chocolate and decorated.  No one knew that they weren't 'real' chocolates until they took a bite and the kids thought they were way better than 'real' chocolates.  Next I want to make some to put in a heart shaped box.  Best part is these only took less than an hour to make.  I wrote up a full tutorial if you would like to see how they were made. http://diylouisville.blogspot.com/2011/02/valentines-rice-crispy-candy.html
14  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Oreo Cookie Pops for Valentine's Day on: February 04, 2011 10:16:12 AM
Putting the sugar decorations on is the perfect job for the kids!  Even my three year old was able to help out with these.
15  COOKING / Dessert / Oreo Cookie Pops for Valentine's Day on: February 04, 2011 07:05:10 AM

I put together a few store bought items to create some super cute cookie pops for Valentine's Day.  The best part is there is no baking required and it's easy enough for the kids to help.  These make a great gift idea for grandparents or teachers.  I also made a few without sucker sticks and they make a cute addition to a dessert table.  If you would like to see how to make them step by step, I wrote up a tutorial on my blog:

16  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Kawaii Style Valentines Sheet on: January 31, 2011 04:30:28 AM

I worked on and off on this all last week, making my own Valentines sheets.  I really wanted some Valentines that were like the ones you would buy and exchange when you were in school but cooler Smiley  These each measure 4x2.5 and there are 8 on the sheet.  They are hand drawn and then colored in photoshop. I think my favorite might be the computer love one.  Since I already had them made I decided to share and you can print out the PDF for free at our blog.
