Cookie is a cute little fox doll that I made up for my daughter's friend's birthday.  She is made out of quilting cotton and even has a cute little skirt.

My two kids ages 7 and 4 asked for a Halloween party this year, being a mom who loves parties and Halloween how could I resist.  We decided on a Monster theme and over a month a crafted all of the party favors and decorations.  I also made all of the desserts.


These are some of the 40 handmade stuffed monsters that I made as party favors.  Each kiddo got to take one home.

I think the clings would be reusable as long as you either saved the backing sheet or carefully stored them between sheets of paper.

My husband has been wanting to make his own window clings based on Ed Emberley art forever.  This year he actually went out and bought the blackout film and set to work.  About a week later our bay window was covered in these awesome images just in time for Halloween.

This year my daughter decided she wanted a bubble gum themed birthday party.  So after a few months of crafting and gum hoarding this is what I came up with!

Cake made by me, buttercream with fondant and gumball decorations.  The topper was a wooden 7 that I spray painted and glued gumballs too.

Dining table centerpiece,  I made the gumball machine out of a flower pot, ivy bowl and saucer.  The welcome sign was made in photoshop.  The balloons are punchballs we gave out to the kids.


The favors were baby food jars that we spray painted the lids red, filled with gumballs and topped with a label made in photoshop.

So a while back my friend and I started thinking, guys rarely get parties.  Girl's, we have them all the time, showers, tea parties, cocktails, just because.  So we decided to throw a just because party for the boys. My kids are super excited about the movie Hop that comes out this week and since I promised to take them on Friday, I thought why not celebrate the entire week with bunny themed surprises.  Yesterday's was a bunny lunch.  I cut a peanut butter sandwich on pumpernickel bread into a bunny shape using a cookie cutter, added a marshmallow cut in half for the tail, a white circle sprinkle for the eye, a heart shaped sprinkle for the nose and chocolate jimmies for the whiskers.  The face details and tail were held on with peanut butter.  I used some curly lettuce for a little bed and then baby carrots for the bunny's snack.  My kids thought this was great and it would be perfect for Easter too.  You can see more on my blog: http://diylouisville.blogspot.com/2011/03/hop-long-day-one.html

To celebrate the arrival of Girl Scout Cookie Time, we decided to recreate two of our favorite cookies in cupcake form.

The Tag a Long cupcake has a shortbread crust, peanut butter cake and rich chocolate icing.



The Thin Mint Cupcake has a Mocha Brownie Cake, chocolate topping and mint buttercream. 



We topped them both off with their namesake cookie and sprinkles to match the box.
