11  cute brown vintage button brooch in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by yossarian on: March 14, 2009 08:14:03 PM

I made this brooch for my friend, I went through my button tin to find some that would go well together (I chose to use brown ones, because of the large one I used for the base) and hot glued them together! Glued a pin-back to it and it was done.
Simple as that. It took 5 minutes, and looks super cute!

Wow, your son is very impressive!
I have a blacksmith friend who would probably be jelous of him, and he's 4 years older!
James (my friend) has made/is making a coat rack out of roses and vines, I've only seen photos of it, but I LOVE it.

He also plans on making a big gate for his parents house, I've seen some of his designs and they look great, however he's pretty slack and would rather get drunk than make things, so it's possible it will never happen. Haha.  Don't let your son touch alcohol, or he'll turn into James!!!!

I can see your kid going really far with this, good on him!

And here is another map one I made, I don't think I like it as much as the first one though.

pretty!  the map one is my favorite as well.

p.s. if there are too many for you to use, you should try selling them!

p.p.s. i LOVE your username, i'm reading catch-22 right now.

I might try selling them, I'm not sure where though! And I dunno if they are gooe enough quality to sell, I'm sure I'll perfect it though, the rate I am going!
Catch 22 is a great book, my very favourite!

Aaaand, here is another one I just made, flowers!

I have another one drying...

15  my slight addiction in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by yossarian on: December 30, 2008 09:45:39 PM
I have fallen in love with notebook making, and have made heaps, far more than I could possibly use! I just keep finding awesome images that I can't NOT make into wee notebooks.

All together:

The one that started it:

This is a photo of me aged 6, dressing up as a pirate. On the back is a photo of me fighting my little brother with a sword ontop of our playhouse.

The book itself was an absolute waste of paper, but as a notebook it is just too fun! I love ridiculous book covers like this.

The following ones I made this afternoon. (told ya I'm addicted!)

A map. There is something so attractive about maps, and considering the amount of map crafts I've seen on here I'm not the only one who thinks so! I think this is my favourite.

These girls are having so much FUN! I love how cheesy this image is. I wish I had a hawaiian newspaper or something for the back, but I just kept it plain. =(
The tape on the side is all uneven, will have to fix that!

The Little Mermaid is my favourite Disney movie (well...one of them!!!) I picked up a book of it for free in a second hand shop for crafty purposes. The back is Ariel looking at Flotsam and Jetsam all scared like.

Thanks for looking everyone, please let me know what you think!

16  Snap Card Mini Notebook in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by yossarian on: November 02, 2008 05:21:53 PM
A local band I like ( www.myspace.com/ragamuffinchildren ) were selling snap cards at a show, so I got 2 decks, one for playing with and one for crafting with as the pictures were just so damn cute!

The other day I made a notebook out of two of the cards, and I thought I would share it here.

Front:

Inside Cover:

Spine:

This was very easy to make, it only took me about 20 minutes, and most of that time was spent cutting (well...ripping..) the paper.
Thanks for looking, and any comments questions or (constructive) critisisms are most welcome.

17  Gingerbread Fun!! in Dessert by yossarian on: September 11, 2008 11:58:18 PM
Me and my brothers had fun decorating gingerbread people today, here are some photos!

I tried to get both thier faces in the shot, but it just wasn't happening. B cared too much about his stripey dress.

The pretty girls and the pretty boy! Heh, I just couldn't resist doing him.

The boys + one girl.

And 13 year old brother E got a wee bit silly with the left over gingerbread. He's decided to give this one to mum. Lucky her?

18  Candy and Cupcakes Chest in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by yossarian on: September 10, 2008 02:13:11 AM
Sooo, sitting in my my room I've got this butt ugly chest, I've had it for years, when I was 14 I decided it would be cool to stick magazine cutouts on it:

Yeap, it was pretty bad. I can't believe 4 years ago I actually thought it was cool!! That weird dark stain was some waxy crap, no idea where it came from, I scraped it off with a ruler, haha.

Anyway, I had been meaning to redecorate it for a few years, but never got around to it. However, I've got a friend moving in with me next week, so I decided it would be good for her to have it for storage. I had these big sheets of paper lying around, of candy and cupcakes. Two things which she just happens to LOVE. I initially wanted to do it in a checkerboard style, but I messed up my cutting, and my maths. So I decided to just cut it out and stick it out on randomly. Not what I had hoped for, but I think it still looks pretty good.

And I roped my little brother in to helping me, so here he is!

Thanks for looking!

19  Re: "What do YOU Journal About?!" Ideas thread! in Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions by yossarian on: September 05, 2008 12:09:53 AM
Wow, so I just sat here and read through all nineteen pages of this!! Very inspirational.

I've decided to start another journal (my old one kinda turned to shite!) tonight. I wrote down a list of things I want to journal about, some ideas I've stolen from this thread, some just came to me while reading it.

Heres my list:

-Words/quotes I like. Decorate page with drawings and clippings that remind me of the quote. (Im gunna do a page like this tonight.)
-Monthly calender. Starting september a bit late!! Oops, not much has happened though.
-Media page. I watch a lot of movies and read alot of books. Should be a good way to keep track of them.
-To do list.
-Food lists. I often slip into very bad eating habits, I think writing down what I eat each day would be a good way to keep track of what I am eating, and making sure I am eating well enough.
-Things I've learned about myself.
-Crafts I want to do/learn.
What I want in a relationship. I have a habit of falling for really bad types, so I want to write down what I want in a partner so I dont make the same mistakes Ive made in the past.
-Places I love. I plan on doing a page like this tonight too.
-'Morning page' as suggested my Calluna. It looks like a good idea.

I might post some pages later on tonight!

=)

EDIT:
Here are the three pages I've done today.

September calender. Friends birthdays (funny how all but one are on a wednesday!!) And things I did that day. Will be doing this every month.

This page I really love. These are photos of a friends house that I absolutly fell in love with. If anyone wants to see better pictures just ask and I will post them!

And this one, that I was really unsure of posting..

I had lots of fun (though a sore hand!!) doing these pages. And I feel I am going to be doing quite a lot more!
