I would think that you would be able to get away with everything being black.  What you might want to do is vary textures if possible to throw some variety into the mix.  What decor style are you thinking about? Got any pictures for context?

Also any science-y stuff would be excellent!  A Tesla coil would be the very best, but minerals in shadow boxes, old microscopes or telescopes, anything like that would be good to have around...  If you can't find anything in thrift shops or on EBay, Edmund Scientific could probably set you up with a few things...

Cool! This napkin looks great - great stitching and choice/placment of images. Think about posting a picture of the entire set when you have finished it - sounds awesome!
