2  Dino Bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by MadMadamMar on: January 30, 2012 09:04:04 PM
This set is another case of having different stuff wasting away in my stash, only to have their true purpose revealed by a new find. In this case, I had this chain and these rock chunk for years, and didn't know what to do with them.  I don't really like working with chunks so much, and was thinking about trading them or just using them in a planter for something.  Then I saw the dino charms, and it all came together!

Here is the set in its natural habitat Cheesy

Just the earrings...

And a slightly clearer picture of the bracelet

3  Goth Spring Bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by MadMadamMar on: January 25, 2012 10:51:14 PM
My third (and I think last) bracelet on this theme.  Even Goths must look forward to spring, right?  I had these black leaf beads from an embroidery project I did years ago - was thrilled to have something to do with them!  Roughly once a year I used to take them out of their bag and sit there looking at them, hoping an idea would occur to me.  Then I would put them away again.  Glad I kept them in my stash!

4  Arctic Spring in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by MadMadamMar on: January 25, 2012 10:45:54 PM
Living in Alaska, my next though on the subject of spring is what arctic spring would look like (assuming it came months earlier than it really does).  Fortunately, I had stuff in my stash to make a frosty yet springy looking bracelet.

5  Spring time bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by MadMadamMar on: January 25, 2012 10:40:44 PM
I just finally figured out what to do with some items from my stash - a longing for spring to come started me on this series of bracelets.  This is the first one...

6  Pirate flag in Halloween Decor and Parties by MadMadamMar on: October 08, 2011 12:18:35 AM
My husband and I usually decorate for Halloween with the standard spooky stuff - ghosts, pumpkins, skeletons. (The standards).  This year we decided to do a pirate theme, which has been a little more difficult, but has given us a chance to try some new things.  Anchorage AK, where we live, does a Pirate Pub Crawl in September that we go to - so we have costumes covered.  This pirate flag is the first crafty thing we have done for the house.  Hubby drew the skull and crossbones freehand, and I did the stitching.  It's ready to hang out tomorrow morning!

8  My Regrets steampunk necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by MadMadamMar on: March 20, 2011 05:26:19 PM

OK, maybe not SO steampunky - but I think it has something of a steampunky tone to it.

9  Iron Hearted necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by MadMadamMar on: March 20, 2011 05:25:13 PM
My Dad took up blacksmithing a year or so ago, and has been making all sorts of neat stuff.  He gave me this little heart a while ago, and it took me a bit of time to decide what to do with it.  I think the gold chain is a nice contrast, and the gear and clock hand work well as a toggle set for it.

and a closer look at the heart...

Made one like this recently for my mom, who loves autumn leaves and squirrels, and then had to have one for myself as well!
