22  Starry Night in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Smuckers9 on: February 16, 2010 08:18:23 PM
Starry Night is my favorite painting! I always wanted a print or a poster of it, but then I thought why not create my own unique version...so I did! I like the results  Cheesy Acrylics on Canvas.

And an in progress shot

Just your average portrait of a Unicorn Kitten.
Nothing unusual here...

24  Flower Multicolored Block Print in Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects by Smuckers9 on: February 16, 2010 08:12:27 PM
This was my first time doing a multi-colored (I used five colors.)block print and it took some planning out but I am very pleased with the way it turned out. I made this by carving out all the white spots first, then, I stamped all of the blue backgrounds, next I carved out everything I wanted to stay blue and printed the green and yellow together, then I cut out everything I wanted to stay green/yellow and printed the pink, finally I carve out everything I wanted to stay pink and print the final outline. I made eleven prints.

One

Two

Three

Four

Five

Six

Seven

Eight

Nine

Ten

Eleven

And one artist proof- I thought I would try a white background but I really hate the result.

What was left of the block after the last printing

Hope you enjoyed looking  Smiley

25  Re: Altered Journal-a-long in Craftalongs by Smuckers9 on: February 16, 2010 08:03:57 PM
I finished some pages yesterday

The text says, Let's stope pretending poverty doesn't exist, it's real.

The text is a worship song I have loved lately it says: Into marvelous light, I'm running, out of darkness out of shame, by the cross You are the truth, You are the life, You are the way...

they both feel jumbled to me...i have been having trouble composing artwork to make it look unified lately.

28  Snake and Eyes Art in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Smuckers9 on: January 27, 2010 09:01:30 PM
I got a ball python for Christmas...which is very exciting for me  Cheesy he is four feet long and very beautiful...Someone took a picture of me holding him and I edited and cropped the picture. I loved the way the edited photo turned out of my eyes with his tongue sticking out so I decided to draw it also!
I used prismacolor pencil which is currently my favorite medium  Cheesy

Here's the original! (Which still remains my favorite)

And just for fun...a picture of just him...hehe... This was when we first got him and he was shedding, so his skin is kind of funky. haha

29  Very special Christmas Gift in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Smuckers9 on: January 02, 2010 03:27:15 PM
These babies are three of the babies my family visited in an orphanage while on our trip to africa. These kids held a very special place in our hearts and we loved all three of them so much. We even tried to adopt one of the girls (light pink shirt) but we were unable to. These kids changed the lives of our entire family. So this year I painted them for my mom and dad for Christmas.

I don't like how the boy in the blue shirt turned out...i dont think it really looks like him...maybe I will try to fix it...
