41  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Yarnholic Seeking to Start a Support Group on: May 07, 2005 09:17:31 PM
Oh my. I think I need to join in.  I just keep buying yarn, though my stash isn't nearly as large as some (yet).  I did give away a few balls of some crappy yarn a few months ago, so that helped.  But still. Eek.

Must go take a picture and count my stash..

I have no resources to share, I just thought I'd say that I'm so excited to hear you're doing a book! Yay! Yay! Yay!
43  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Cross-stitch towels discontinued? on: May 07, 2005 03:22:37 PM
I see those towels everywhere (joann's, walmart, michaels). Methinks that lady doesn't know what she's talking about.

I need to get more to complete my 'forms of the word f*ck' cross stitch project

I'm back to where i was when I frogged. And now my hands hurt so I must stop for a bit (ugh)

Even w/ all my trouble, I love this pattern.  I just want it to be perfect and I get annoyed with it if it isn't so I make myself start over. I'm determined to stop doing that though.

On the upside, my center vein is now perfectly straight Smiley

I did have lifelines and had frogged back a couple times. But my center line wasn't straight anyway and I was just annoyed with the whole thing . So oh well.  Ak! though. So frustrating.

After ending up with 34 stitches on row 7 (how? Ugh!!), I have frogged the whole thing (again). I was only 5 repeats in but it's the farthest I've gotten so far.

I know the stitches and I am comfy w/ the pattern. I don't know how I keep getting off track.  I think I'm going to do the one row per index card thing. I keeping doing half row 7 then the other half row 5.

I refuse to give up though. damnit.
47  UNITED STATES / Oklahoma / Re: Craft Stores on: April 21, 2005 05:35:38 PM
I just can't be bothered to go into the local yarn stores so I get everything online.   I've heard too many stories about the service at the places in Tulsa

After four repeats and a few restarts and goofs, I've realized that my center stem-thing (whatever it's called) isn't straight.   It was for a bit, then just before the last repeat it moved over about a quarter inch.

But I'm so tired of frogging. gah.  So I've decided to just go with it.  It doesn't look horrible, only if you know it's supposed to be straight will you even notice. and since I'm the only one around here who knows the pattern, I'm saying it's just fine and going on.  Otherwise, I'll never ever ever finish.

I did about 5 rows and decided I needed smaller needle size so I'm starting over on the 6s. I am really surprised by how easy the pattern is. It looked complicated to me at first
