112  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: oh where oh where can my little knitting needle be?! on: November 20, 2004 12:02:45 PM
I've never lost a needle but once I set down my knitting to go to the kitchen for a drink and when I came back one of my needles was bent into an L .   I've never figured out how that happened and can only assume my house is haunted by ghosts who don't appreciate craftiness.

I keep the set around, sure that someday at a garage sale I will find a lonely size 10 aluminum to pair w/ the non-bent needle
113  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Frosted glass -- How to make your own frosted glassware! on: November 20, 2004 11:50:34 AM
I've been planning to do this since I first saw it last year.  I think I might finally make some this year for Christmas gifts

I think it would look great w/ blue glasses.

Yay! Is it bad that I haven't completed part 1 (or, uh. started part 1--today though!) and I'm already planning part 2?  I have the tea towel and the embroridery pattern ready to go..

Melmelon, I really like your beaded design.

I'm off to Walmart to find some fabric. I decided on no prints because I want to embroider something or other on it.

I'm also hand-sewing, so this should be interesting..
116  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / Re: disappointing craft fair on: November 13, 2004 03:11:00 PM
Your husband is right--you sold 5 bags!  That's great, and you made up what you paid for the booth, so it wasn't a total loss.

Definitely find a craft fair that is for focused on homemade things.  Those craft fairs that are mostly vendors selling mass-made crap really suck.

And it's not a loss on your bags because you can still sell them through your site or ebay, etc, right?

Next time will be even better, I promise!

117  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Tacky Vintage Recipe Card Magnets! on: November 09, 2004 08:04:28 PM
That's a really good idea. I have a ton of those magnets and am always getting more at trade shows and fairs.  Just might have to steal that idea!

Ok I have my pattern, I have my material (more or less, maybe. might change my mind on that one.  AND I bought Better Homes and Gardens Sewing Book (1970! how i love the old BHG binders) at a garage sale for $2.  I am ready!

Just need a day off alone at home so I can scream and cuss in peace.
119  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: QUICK! www.knithappens.com !!!!!!!!!!! on: November 08, 2004 08:42:23 PM
From looking at the photos on the website I can only assume greasy, shiny and botoxed is the way to look this season. Them's some scary models under those beautiful knits!

OMG I was thinking the same thing. Scary models indeed!
