Those look great!
Though I think I'd be afraid to wear the blue one, I'd display it.
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Pillow Sham Stockings on: December 20, 2014 08:50:45 PM
After Halloween I went to Goodwill, looking for prom dresses and such.
I wanted some satiny material to make Christmas stockings for the family. I figured that would be much cheaper than buying the material.
Well, I didn't find a decent dress, but I did find 2 gold brocade pillow shams. This is what I made.

Before (the stripes are on the back of the sham)

The initials are on 2 inch wood discs, painted gold with copper lettering.
I'm very happy with the way they turned out Smiley

My daughter LOVES Dr. Who (me too) so I have started a new tradition with her. Every year she gets a wood-burning of a Tardis in an unusual place. Last year it was with Cinderella on the palace steps. This year it is with the Iron Giant, one of our favorite movies.
I wish the wood would photograph better. The flash picks up the grain much more than you see in person. And the background trees are a bit more prominent..
This is done on an 11 inch cheese box lid made of basswood.
(this is not my artwork, it is from a t-shirt)
