1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Patter making on: September 18, 2012 07:52:26 PM
Hi! I'm just starting out again too! I have a hard time with patterns fitting properly/not at all in the style I want, so I decided to make my own.
I bought Cal Patch's Design-It-Yourself Clothes: Patternmaking Simplified
It's a pretty good book - it keeps everything really simple and all the info is delivered well.
Plus, she tells you how to do rub offs!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: How do I get over my intense hatred of pinning and cutting out pattern pieces?? on: September 18, 2012 06:15:22 PM
I'm not nearly as experienced as you are (I've seen a bit of the work you've posted on here and it's always lovely, by the way), but I always tend to feel this way. I have a few new patterns and the fabric already prepped for them, but I can't seem to make myself get going on them.
This probably won't resonate with you (given that you've accomplished more than I have), but I think my main problem is that I'm afraid to cut up my beautiful fabric (some of them are really pretty). I hope my fear fades as I get used to the process.
What about playing your most favourite happy music while you cut and pin? Or maybe a cool audiobook? They might help distract the part of your brain that isn't happy with the cutting and pinning activity.
Either way, good luck!  Smiley

I love that fabric - I think they'd make great gifts, very pretty! Cheesy (The stitching is quite fun too!)

5  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: fresh out of the oven earrings on: January 10, 2012 09:19:38 PM
Lovely job! I might have to try and make some of my own, they look delicious  Smiley
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Crocheted Bacon Scarf & Hat on: December 08, 2010 01:03:38 AM
No way! Best idea ever! I know you created it beforehand, but it totally reminds me of lady gaga's meat dress. Your hat and scarf are so much more cozy and not creepy. Good stuff!
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Hexagon motif blanket on: December 08, 2010 12:59:40 AM
All I can say is WOW!!! The hexagons are so incredibly pretty - they look like mandalas Smiley Awesome work!
8  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Lots of mini food jewellery + accessories on: June 26, 2010 12:09:18 PM
Oh my goodness! You've created so much awesome, delicious-looking cuteness! I've had a bunch of polymer hiding in my craft cupboard but I've been too intimidated to use it yet. You've totally inspired me to give it a shot - it'd be totally worth the risk of screwing it up to get incredible miniatures like yours!
9  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: If you want to take pictures of rain... (image obese) on: July 10, 2008 09:31:57 AM
Oh those are so pretty! I tried taking photos of raindrops on a morning glory vine last week but it was too windy to get a macro shot. This makes me want to try it again next time it rains!
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: making a mess with paints, jeans, and tee's. on: July 10, 2008 09:04:25 AM
Awesome recon! I love the shirts too! Some of the shapes on the yellow tank kinda looked like doves at first glance.
