1  My 1st resin cast! turned out awesome :D in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by D-Kay on: August 20, 2008 08:27:59 PM
So i had been lurking around the jewlery section and kept seeing resin so I finally broke in and bought some resin from michaels and a mold ( the one everyone has) and also used some very old candy molds my grandmother gave me. I'm so happy with how it turned out! The big egg mold broke and cracked, but it was super thin plastic and probably 20 yrs old, so i think i understand why.

the whole lot

some of my favorites Smiley

my awesome cameo mold I got from my gradma. I want to try some transparent pigment and try to make these look like "real" cameos.

there are alot of really little bubbles, but it's still successful to me. I had to rescue the batch because I had already poured the 1st layer down, sitting outside in my bfs appartment and the ppl on the balcony above decided to water their plants, spraying water all over my molds!  Shocked I ran the hairdryer over them as a desperate mesure and it worked! huzah!

2  Narritive Collage! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by D-Kay on: July 30, 2008 11:31:32 AM
hm, so i hope that this is an okay place to post this.....I always end up making these really narrative collages, and never really know what the story is. It just makes itself up as I go! this is just done on top of a "cigar box" that I got at micheals and used modge podge on.

srry the images are so dark (and try to ignore the watermarks, they're not there in real life)...

SO, now i just have to figure out what to do for the inside and the edges of the box. I was thinking of lining it with some kind of satin-ie cloth (prolly blue) and having some dividers for a jewelry box thing...
does anyone thing that these would be buyable??
also does anyone know if collage artitists have to reference the images they used?
