Wow! I am so incredibly honored that my little book inspired your amazing art book! I love how you changed the scale and brought everything into more detail, it really shows a high level of intimacy--like I get a sense of you living in your home. The use of outlines really makes it pop too. You really took my concept to a whole new level and are obviously a talented illustrator and binder! Makes me want to make a new version of mine and bind it properly instead of just with ribbon, although I know I'd ruin it if I got anywhere near a pen!
Anyways, Beautiful work!!! I'm just excited about the incarnations of crafts and the awesomeness of the craftster community.

Oh my gosh I love it. First of all, Spock is a total hottie. Second of all, I love what you did with the large and uneven blocks of color. I can't believe it worked so well. Really aesthetically pleasing and modern with a surprise image built right in. This rocks!

I'm in love. That is pretty much all I can say. And, of course, this TOTALLY ROCKS!

Here is my AMAZING and CREATIVE house from Camelama!!! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves:

THe house without snow (good for all seasons!) Look at those lace curtains!

The house with it's snow blanket! CUUUUTE

INSIDE (yes it hinges open and is closed with adorable acorn buttons) a fireplace and christmas tree!

And SURPRISE! Inside were stuffed all these wee forest friends! Bunny, squirrel, 2 skunks, owl, turtle, 2 mice, dove, mushroom and wreath! My kitty thought they were a present for her, but I told her whats what...

FOR SCALE. Tiny! I think the little skunks might be my favorite, but it is hard to choose!

Some forest friends with their log house! Wow, camelama, you really took the "woodland" suggestion and ran with it! When I got this I remembered that I had a toy when I was a little girl that was a log house that hinged just like this (except it was plastic and not as nice but I liked it anyways) with a family of squirrel stuffies that lived inside. That toy is lost to the ages, but now I have this beautiful new one that is lovely felt and so sweet. Thank you for all your hard work!

Just received THE MOST AWESOME HOUSE from Camelama!!! It is beyond my expectations and perfectly tailored to my tastes! Unfortunately you will all have to wait to see this truly spectacular work of craftiness until I get new batteries for my camera...

Thank you so much Camelama! I can't wait to show off your gorgeous work!!!

So...this was my first swap project, and I am posting it on recommendations from the completed project board. The swap was "tiny winter house" which was one winter-themed house under 4 inches in each dimension. I really felt like I wanted to do something clean and sort of minimalist for this project and after some experimentation, decided to go with all white layers of a house. Here are my layers:

Then I had to find some way to present these layers, so I wanted to make them into a book, but I didn't leave enough edge on the left to bind them, so I made a book and each page was a frame that I glued the page into.

I also added some trees at the beginning and end of the book. I hope StickerChick87 likes her book, even if it probably wasn't the 3D house she was expecting! I tried to use a lot of detail and sort of tell a story. about a house. in the winter.

9  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: One Tiny Winter House Swap (signups CLOSED Sendouts 12/18/10) on: December 14, 2010 09:52:49 PM
Just checking in! I'm not done, but making significant progress. However, I think I'm done for tonight as I can only do a little at a time before my hand tires out. Expecting a timely shipment to michigan before I ship myself out to michigan. I hear there's plenty of snow...and cold...where my little house is going.
If everyone is as crazy as I feel right now with holiday preparations, good luck to you all! My list of people to craft for only seems to get longer...

. Here's hoping Melli is warm and safe - it took some people TEN FREAKING HOURS to get home from downtown Seattle last night,

Thanks for your concern Camelama! I did have to wait an hour in the freezing cold wind for my bus to come monday night, but I had sort of a communal experience with the rest of the stranded people at the bus stop, and I felt like the crazy weather really brought the city together, in a way. And when I hear about other people's commutes... mine wasn't so bad.
Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving! My mom has been staying with us for a week, which has interrupted my crafting schedule, but she just left for Michigan, so now it's full speed ahead!
