Hi! This is my first post with photos, so I hope it turns out okay. My first solo bellydance was to "Young Lions" by Adrian Belew, so I needed a liony/African-inspired costume. On a budget. In a short amount of time. Sooo...
This was my first attempt at a tribal-style belt. It's simply a long rectangle of brown fake fur leftover from a lion costume. I folded it in half and punched holes along the bottom and two short sides. Into the holes along the bottom I knotted different yarns from my yarn stash. A length of leather cord laced up the belt in front.
I made the harem pants from a pair of clearance plus-size black silk lounging pants. They were missing the drawstring from the waistband. I replaced that with heavy elastic and ran lighter elastic through the leg hems.
I did not make the blouse. The skirt was on loan from my best friend. The copper coin belt is from Cat's Paw. TFL!
