If you listen quietly... you'll hear my roaring applause!!! It's perfect in my eyes, something like this is way beyond my patience range.

What a gorgeous shiny coat she has! And the collar is too cute.

I am so wary of dobies, we used to live next to the Child-Eating-Monster-From-Hell when I was little.  Sad

Thanks! The only thing I might add maybe is some type of slipcover for the canvas-covered bottom... The beautiful cream coloured canvas, that fit in so nicely with our living room colours, was not the best idea. It's getting a bit yucky!

Thankfully, he seems to be growing 'into' his ears.... Wink

The streets in Sharm,Egypt are overrun by stray/wild cats... and dogs, for that matter. So much that some horribly cruel people (some claim it's the government) regularly drop poison to curb the numbers. Anyway, one evening, when my husband opened the front door, the sweetest little guy walked into our flat, and simply refused to return to his mommy outside in the street! So, now we have this unplanned baby to care for....

Aside from a crocheted mouse, this was my first piece of craftiness for Tinker....

I simply used an empty box, attached an aluminium foil inner tube for a pole, papermached the whole thing once to add a little strength, after which I punched a whole in the side, and filled it with some beach sand. Used some strong resin based glue to cover it with canvas, and wound some rope around the 'pole'. Crocheted a semi-ball-thingy with a bell at the bottom, and voila!

I was really worried that the whole design might be a little flimsy, as it did some wiggling around, so I added some more rope at the base, and once all the glue had dried, there was no more wiggling. A month later, and vigorous hourly attacks from the little monster, surprisingly it is fine!

The top:

The base of the pole, a little blurry... I had to glue scraps of canvas to the ends of the cotton rope to prevent fraying edges.

He loves it!!
