If you ever feel the urge to paint a flower on your car (or drape garlands on your bike), set up house in a tree, or just sit back, relax and talk about what is the answer...then this swap is for you! Every generation has it's wars, it's economic issues, and it's politics...but what makes our generations special is that we have CRAFTSTER and therefor can engage in swaps that allow us to spread our peace loving crafts all over - so join, and make crafts NOT war.

Please do not feel restricted to using just the "Peace" symbol. This swap is all about what Peace means to you!

I understand that this is a very busy time with holidays and school and work, so for this swap we will be making 2 mediums and 2 smalls. You can decide with your partner if you would like to make more then that, but please make sure you do at least 6 points - it's all about fairness and equality baby! ALSO, you must include in your package one bought item. You can decide how much you'd like to spend on this, but please don't feel like you have to spend a fortune. Under $10 is FINE, unless you decide otherwise with your partner. This item must be purchased from any of the following places -

1. A company that donates part/all procedes to charity
2. A company that uses recycled materials
3. A farmers market

A few rules to follow
This is my first time organizing a swap, so I would prefer things to go as calmy as possible. This is not only for my benefit, but for yours also. So please, if you are unable to abide by the following rules, do not join!

1. Whenever you PM me, you must include the name of the swap in the subject line
2. Please comment in the thread at least once a week, or PM me once a week.
3. You must PM me when you ship AND when you receive
4. When shipping, you must either get a DC# for items shipping in the US, or a receipt for items shipping out of the US. Please PM me either of those items - if it's a receipt you can scan/take a pic of it and PM me that.
5. You and your partner MUST COMMUNICATE! Please maintain a good flow of communication between your partner and yourself. If you do not feel like comfortable with the level of communication, please feel free to PM me and I'll try and sort it out.
6. Flaking is NOT ACCEPTABLE. It is rude and unneccesary, and in such a peaceful swap it's just innappropriate! If you don't think you'll be able to do this swap, then just don't sign up! You're more than welcome to check out the gallery, and of course if this round goes well I'll be happy to organize future rounds.

Thank you SO MUCH for taking time to read the rules. And thank you even more if you follow them  Grin

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

I would just like to add, you know when you write a word a lot and it starts to look like it's mis-spelled even though it's not. Well thanks to organizing this swap, Peace now looks like I'm spelling it wrong....

5  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Give Peace A Chance! Obama/Biden 08 on: October 06, 2008 01:16:59 PM
Ok, so this is a shirt I made really super fast because I had to wear it out the same night. It's kind of messy, kind of not original...but here you have it!

In the process....

Finished!

One of many mess-ups - oh, and here you see a fine example of my own hand-writing, which SUCKS. Usually I use fonts printed on the computer but at this moment I was short on time.

On moi...it sits pretty low, right under my ta-tas.
6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Make Love Not War Swap on: September 17, 2008 01:09:25 PM
HELLO!

Lets make love not war....or make crafts not war!

And then swap them....

anybody up for it?

I'd be happy to organize come mid October, or if anybody else is up for the task and enough people sign on they can organize sooner.

I'm not sure if this is being suggested right now, or if it's been done before. Either way I think it'd be a really fun swap.

You could make all sorts of fun stuff! Peace themed, Makin Love themed (you know, instead of makin war...) Tye-dye, hippy, independent, activist, flower-power, john lennon....so many thoughts come to mind.

Please, Please, Please say you love this idea! Good karma will flood your way =)
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / My favorite bands/music swap? on: August 25, 2008 08:32:33 PM
I'm not sure if this exact thing has been done before, but I believe I've seen something similar.

How about a swap centered around music! It could be your favorite band/genre, or certain songs you like. I am a music junkie and whenever someone gives me there musical tastes I immediately plan a mix-tape to make them. PLEASE, PLEASE tell me someone would be interested in organizing this!

Things you could make -

*mix with similar music
*band shirts
*wall art
*i-pod cozies
*music journals....

Ok, so those are some lame ideas, but I know I'd LOVE a shirt with Vetiver on the front and my i-pod is getting a tad chilly....
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Teach me to knit...please! on: July 31, 2008 10:09:38 AM
I have all the supplies, but no clue.

I'm looking for a good book or even an online source that can teach me to knit. And seeing as I have the mind of a 5 year old, lots of pictures are KEY.

Any ideas?  Huh
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / please, inspire me! on: July 27, 2008 10:58:42 AM
Ok, I'll begin with a short explination.

My aunt owns a small craft store, and when she brings in new inventory she gets rid of some of her older things. This means I get them. Which in turn means I have boxes, and boxes full of beads. I kid you not. Well, at first it was fun! So many beads...so many ideas....so many unfinished bracelets, necklaces, anklets la de da the list goes on. Now I just feel overwhemled and down  Undecided

So I was hoping some of you might be able to share some ideas with me!

What are your favorite things to do with beads?

I swear I will not steal your ideas and make millions off of them, Girls Scouts honor. I just need a little something to get me back into the spirit of crafting. Right now everything I make is so dull and mediocre, but I feel as though some of the newer, more exciting ideas I have are just to out there to be made into legit items. Please, tell me I'm wrong! Share your crazy ideas!
