1  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Big chinchilla cage on: February 22, 2011 02:59:35 PM
thats a nice size cage for them! i would just make sure that the chickenwire covers even the very corners of the cage because if you leave even a few inches of just wood they WILL chew through it and get out. tricky mischevious chins. ;P

i think this and the lady gaga meat dress (or maybe the caution tape and beer can rollers) are gonna be the most popular costumes this halloween. here what i would do..

you need:
- a blue bra that fits
- 2 6in diameter styrofoam donut shapes (in the floral arranging section of the craft store)
- 2 tan colored tagboard (or similar) strips (about 20 inches long)
- 2 white colored tagboard circles about 7.5 in diameter
- white 100% SILICON caulk (from the hardware store)
- seed beads or similar to use as sprinkles and something to use as a cherry (fimo ball? wood bead? whatever you can find)
- tape
- hot glue

(im using donut shapes as the base for the cupcake rather then half a sphere because you've gotta fit it over the cup of a real breast, flats on curves don't work so well, i think the hollow of the donut will make it sit better and more comfortably)

ok soo...

1. take the white tagboard circles, find the center and cut about a 1.5 inch (at the widest part) wedge out of it.
2. take the edges you just cut out of the circle together to make a shallow cone shape (the wider you cut the base of the wedge, the taller the cupcake top will be)
3. congregate the tan strips and glue them around the edge of the styrofoam donut shapes.
4. glue the cone on top
5. use the silicon caulk to "frost" the "cupcake" it will dry rubbery and will look just like whip cream. (do this outside because its toxic and be sure not to get it on anything you cant throw away as it isn't water soluble) make sure to frost it rather thinly because this stuff dries kinda heavy.
6. before your "frosting" dries decorate them as you like
7. hot glue it onto the cups of the bra!

ta da! easy and should be pretty light. Smiley
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / mint A-line lolita JSK on: September 17, 2010 09:57:53 AM

gosurori pattern (im sorry i dont know which one exactly, it was a scan someone posted) i tweaked the color a little to make it more true to life. it looked really blue on my camera but its a really nice bright mint color! also, you cant see the sparkly on the chiffon that well. IRL its gorgeous! i made this in about....8 hours. Smiley i think the a-line shape is a life saver for those of us who think the typical gathered lolita skirt is really unflattering on them. (i.e.- me.) and it seems faster to make....less gathering! what do you think?

Cheesy i just recieved my package from broknwingz! omg, everything is AMAZING and especially since i was no longer really her partner, she went way out of her way to STILL craft for me! on to the pics!
this is my wearing the amazingly cute dress she made me! it fits perfectly and the shape is REALLY flattering! i love it!

heres the super cute cutsew!

both together, the dress has a little chain of glass pearls that has clips so you can take it off for washing!

thennnn there was this AWESOME bag, its the perfect size for books and my mini laptop! i love it! kitty, did you make this bag from SCRATCH!?

its like a fold-over tote style messenger bag, and the grey will go with lots of my wardrobe
there's a little wristlet/pencil bag to match the dress (complete with pencils! tehe)

little necklaces and a glass pearl bracelet! which i will wear ALL THE TIME!

and lastly but not least, a hardcover journal/notebook covered in a pretty classic floral print with pink lace around the edge:
