I made a stencil of my face and painted it onto a shirt for me to wear. 



I used freezer paper and silver paint.

It stretched a bit, but I still love it.

Some friends of mine were in a Rock Band competition a while back and asked me to make these shirts for their final performance.

The front has their instrument logo on it.


And the back has their band logo on it.

The letters "DLC" in Rock Band's DLC symbol.

The "DLC" originally stood for Downloadable Content. But they said now they're just "DLC" and like to just make up what it stands for. (Dudes Love Chicks, etc.)


And they won.

Sorry I don't have any action photos, I didn't go to the competition.


Oh and another thing: You know how iron-on injet transfers are supposed to be used on 100% cotton shirts only? (At least the ones I use)
Well these shirts are 50% polyester. (ironing time is less) When I told them that, they didn't want to wash it for a while.
Then someone did wash and dry it and they said it turned out better than it was before.

This was made for a friend's birthday.



It was pretty simple to make too, once I figured out how to do it.



The fruit is a red half circle sewn up to create a cone-shaped thing. And the tip is rounded.
I did a running stitch around the top of the cone, then stuffed it and pulled and secured the thread to close up the top.

It should look something like this:





The leaves are two pieces of this kind of shape

(but more even)

...sewn together and turned inside out.

The stem thing is a rectangle and a circle sewn together to make a bottomless cylinder, then handsewn to the top of the leaves. If you pull the thread tight, it should make the leaves wrinkly like this

This was a gift for my friend's birthday.



It is a marshmallow.
Marshmallow is one of her nicknames or something and it was kind of made last minute so this is what I made her.

Some people have told me that it looks like ghost (which is what I thought initially) but she knows it's a marshmallow, so it doesn't matter.

It was pretty easy to make too. It was 2 circles (the top and bottom), and a rectangle (the middle) with the eyes and mouth sewn on before it was sewn to the top and bottom.

I'm sorry those were not very good instructions, but really, I think you can figure it out.

So my first attempt at a dress didn't really go well. I got good comments on it, but it wasn't made well and it was uncomfortable. Here it is:

So I cut up that dress and made this (the blouse was bought)

And I love it. I've worn it out a couple of times and have gotten great comments on it. (Though credit is given where credit is due.)

The only problem I have with it is the zipper. I used this cheap zipper and it only works if you work on zipping for a while. Otherwise, the teeth don't lock together well and this happens:

So I was Daria this Halloween.


I made the jacket and skirt from scratch. Bought the orange shirt. And the "boots" were just lace up flats worn with long black socks.
I wish you could see the skirt better, the pleats took forever...


Originally, two of my friends wanted us to do an Alice in Wonderland theme. But I didn't really want to and neither did most others.

So it ended up not going through, but the two who wanted to do it kept with their ideas.

I'm really proud of the top because it was the first successful fitted top I've made with non-stretch fabric.
Everything was done from scratch except for the shorts, which were old pajama pants hemmed, and covered with the pink and purple stripes.

Yeah and the stripes were all individually sewn together.

As for Alice, the costume started out great, but we didn't actually really get to work on it until a few hours before we left to go out on Halloween.

We were working on several other people's costumes simultaneously (White Rabbit, Pirate, etc.)
So uh it didn't turn out good. The only picture I have of it (reasonably, since she probably didn't want to remember wearing the outfit, and I don't really want to remember that I made it, or helped make it) is this:


The dress was too short, the bust was too tight, the seams were puckering and uneven, and crooked. And blah blah blah the list goes on.

So now we know that we should start now in order to get our costumes done in time for Halloween next year.

Note: This was my first time working with Mod Podge, so hopefully I'll get better as I learn to use it better.

I made these necklaces

I just used some thin wire and some string. No metal jewelry for me--I'm allergic.

I figured using an image of the actual Rock Band drum set would look weird. Plus it would have been heavier and more difficult to make.
The idea came from a friend who thought this up to put on a shirt:

This was my first attempt at making a hoodie and I am so super proud of myself for this.

I didn't mean to cover my face I just wanted to show the striped strip of fabric there.
It looks cool, and I love it, but the only reason I did that was because the sleeves were too tight. I cut the fabric too short. Hooray for that mistake, huh?

There are a bunch of mistakes, of course, but I couldn't be happier with my first try.

So here's another strawberry item.

I found this strawberry print fabric and needed to make something, so here it is:

A purse. The back looks the same as the front, except without the bow.

I saw a purse with this general shape somewhere and liked it, but didn't like it enough to buy it so I just kinda winged this.

The inside is lined with the same green fabric that's on the bottom of the strap.

Also, I will not show the inside of the purse because it is gross-- meaning I got lazy and sewed it only so that it will stay together so it ended up being really messy.

But who else will look inside my purse but me, right? Oh well. I'll do better next time, I swear.

A friend of mine is leaving for college so I wanted to make him something.
