Thanks everyone for the comments on my dotees - I knew right away from the request I would do Marie Antoinette and then thought of doing all three dotees with identical bodies but seeing how different I could get the final results to be.
I was a costume design minor in college and did my final project as dolls instead of paintings, so I've a long history of making historical dolls.

I really enjoyed this exchange, it's been a long time since I've made something so wee and I'd forgotten the fun of it.

I got my final dotee today, from Pixiefirefly

I love the sparkle of her glitter swirls and the beads in her tail.  And all the purple.

I got my dotee from smmarrt today.

The town I live in isn't on the map as such, because it's an 'unincorporated community' whatever that means.  But she totally got the point of the heart right on my house so it's all good.

I love the yarn of her hair, the color is totally the color I painted my bedroom at my parents house, a very pleasant flashback.  And for some reason I am totally in love with her little FEET! Just, the way the green wire sort of outlines the shape of the bead, I don't know.

Thank you so much, and thanks for the cute inserts too!

This lovely lady was waiting for me when I got back from work on Friday.

She came from clovergrace.  I love the little dress made from flower petals, and the jeweled belt.

But most especially I love the wings, so nicely shaped and the sparklies are perfect for her

ps: I hope the pictures show up, all the craftster hosted images seem to be hit or miss from my end this morning.

Thanks so much!

I finished my first doll last night, except for the face.  Still need to go to the craft store before I can do that.  So cool to experiment with new techniques on such a tiny project.

I've got one of the others planned and still brainstorming the third.

Unfortunately, I don't know who made what, because the note inside didn't say.

The first one with the leather and tulle bow was from me.  glad you liked it.  I did send a note originally but what with me stupidly sending yours to laddyb88 and hers to you I guess it didn't make it.

I got my two international headbands over the weekend while I was away at a con, so here's the pictures now:

from purringcat is a cute band with Japanese (?) bunnies, that will go great with jeans.  It's cleverly done with a button and elastic loop in back, giving it just enough stretch to be comfortable

and from laddyb88 a wider kerchief style in a sparkly floral print; I love the glitter, and it fits perfectly with covered elastic strap in back.

Thanks so much, both of you.  They both wear well and hide my horrible hairline perfectly.

I hope the ones I send you arrive ok, especially since I messed up and sent you each others  Undecided  Thanks again for fixing my mistake and swapping them to the right person

My package arrived while I was away at a Con, isn't that always how the post office does it?

I LOVE the painting of Val.  It's a perfect image of her personality, and the way she always hides her feetses.  The crown is there in real life actually, it just doesn't show up on cameras so I'm not sure how TheSavoyTruffle knew to paint it Smiley

I think Val is flattered at how this glamorous painting strips at least 5 pounds off her actual size.

The full package:

The small items were a sketch of each cat done in pastels on black paper.  Very vibrant and great character.

Both cats like the catnip ball, through they haven't figured out how to play with unless I'm holding it.  They want to rub their faces on it and it just rolls away.

The treats were a hit as well, Val keeps chewing on my fingers even after she's eaten the treat

Thanks so much, I love everything in the package!

I got my first headband from athena394 Saturday, but I was in an all-day class and this was my first chance to post.

I love the shape, it's perfect how it tapers to be narrow enough to lie flat under my hair in back.  And the workmanship is so clean, when I make them for myself I'm always sloppy with raw edges and visible stitching in back.

And the math flower is so gorgeous and cool, with the phi and integral symbols.

Very sadly when I put it on my head, it cracked and one of the phi's fell off, I didn't even notice until I was looking at the picture.  But it's ok.  The math flower now decorates the binder I carry at work, and without the emblem the headband is fully reversible.  I've worn it on both sides already and gotten lots of complements.

Thank you so much!

The inside is as cool as the outside

I just finished the small item, so tonight I'll be packing it all up and hopefully mailing tomorrow.
