1  CANADA / Ontario / Need to find glass decor stones in Guelph on: March 30, 2012 11:33:38 AM
Can anyone help me? I swear I used to see these EVERYWHERE and now that I need some I cannot find them. I am looking for those glass flat marbles that are used as decor in vases and fishtanks. And now they are also used to make magnets and other crafting projects. I do not want to pay for international shipping on these. Thank you Smiley

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Padded artwork instead of chair rail? on: January 14, 2010 04:13:13 PM
A friend of mine is having issues with her dining chairs banging up against her wall. She doesn't really want a chair rail and her second idea of putting padded fabric decor thingies on the tops of her chairs just doesn't sit right with me.

I have this idea to make something like a padded headboard to put in her wall in place of the artsy mirror she has now. It would be slightly padded to provide buffer for the chairs and act as an art piece in her dining room. We may just use really pretty fabric for it to match her current decor or we'll use something plain and paint it to match.

What do you all think? What would I need to build it? Any idea of cost? I think it will need to be about 5' x 4' to work as chair protection and artpiece.

Any thoughts, tips would be much appreciated Smiley
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / A purse for you and a purse for me :) on: August 23, 2009 08:24:29 PM
My sister came over for the weekend and finally nagged me into making her a purse. I figured while the sewing machine was hot, I should make one for myself too, so here they are!
Both are made from patterns purchased from ithinksew.com

7  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Little Forest Friends on: August 01, 2009 06:00:22 PM
I have done a few paintings in my life but I always stayed closer to the abstract style thinking that I couldn't really do anything else. Well, I decided to give myself a challenge and painted these as a gift for a young woman in our church expecting her first child.

The images are based off of her crib bedding seen here: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10082632

They are far from perfect but I am shocked that they came out better than I thought the would. Please let me know what you think!
