1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Quite Quick Baby Blanket on: March 12, 2010 12:32:23 PM
Knitted up this baby blanket for a friend who recently produced a son named Sean. I figured any kid named Sean needs a green blanket so i made this for him.

Ended up taking about 21 hours total (based on me timing some rows and averaging it out, and multiplying that with the amount of rows the completed blanket ended up being), which for me took about 3 weeks, but in reality i could've finished it in a weekend if i needed to. I do like it but if i had it to do over again i would've put a cable patter in the stockinette "columns" that go "up" the blanket. it's hard to explain, but i think most of you will get what i mean. I also probably would've done something in the center box, maybe a shamrock or his first initial or something like that. Didn't think of that till after it was done though, so maybe next time. I did enjoy it though because it isn't so big that i couldn't take it with me places and work on it and it's a mindless pattern (especially with the use of stitch markers) so it was easy to watch a movie or talk to someone while doing it without worrying about messing something up.
If anyone actually wants i can post a pattern for it, but it's just stockinette and garter stitch so it's pretty easy to figure out how it was done, and you can easily modify it if you wanted it to be bigger, smaller, taller, or different in anyway.

just felt like sharing it, since i've been a member here for quite some time but never posted any of my F.O.'s. Though this one isn't an overly impressive one. oh well.   Cheesy

thanks for looking,

p.s.- sorry the pictures aren't the best, i had to use my cell phone since i have no idea what happened to the charger for my digital camera's batteries.
