Each person should plan on making at least one big project (requiring more time) and two to three small projects.

13  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Using the buddy list for swap purposes on: May 20, 2006 02:39:35 PM
I have a question.  If you make someone your buddy, can they tell that you did it?
14  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Comic Book/Superhero Swap Gallery on: May 16, 2006 04:49:15 PM
Didn't see a gallery, so I started one.

Original Thread: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=84991.0

My partner, stiching sister, has received!  She doesn't have a camera, so here are my pics.

She said her favorite comics book characters were Angry Little Asian Girl and Wonder Woman.

I sent:
-An ALAG crochet clutch (I used the In Bloom pattern from SNB:HH)
-ALAG magnets
-An ALAG sculpey-covered tin
-An ALAG picture frame
-An ALAG pendant
-A Wonder Woman t-shirt that I stenciled (using a sketch by Brian Stelfreeze and Adam Hughes)

And the comic I chose to send was Solo #1 featuring the work of Tim Sale.

So glad you liked everything, stiching sister!

16  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Newbie Projects: two hats and the Fit to be Tied purse on: April 08, 2006 11:41:52 AM
I just learned how to crochet, and now I can't stop!  I have been a knitter for years, but now I have another excuse to buy yarn.

First, a pink hat, using maybe a skein of Caron Sayelle.  The pattern was in Family Circle Easy Knitting Holiday 2004.

Second, a red hat, using one skein of Lion Brand Woolease Chunky.  The pattern is here, http://www.hometown.aol.com/tepperleen/page2.html

Third, the Fit to be Tied purse from The Happy Hooker book.  I used about a skein of Lion Brand Woolease Worsted.

17  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / First Crochet Projects: Garden Scarf and One-Skein Scarf on: March 13, 2006 05:05:59 AM
I love Debbie Stoller's new book!  I sort of learned how to crochet when I was in elementary school, but I only knew sc.  This book has already taught me so much.  I did the Garden Scarf using two skeins of Knitpicks Sierra (and I added three flowers to the length), while I used 1 skein of Patons Classic Merino for the One-Skein Scarf.  I love them both, and I can't wait to try more projects.

19  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Of Course Van Gogh Loved "My Little Ponies"! (4 pics total) on: February 19, 2006 05:08:43 PM
Recently, a "Customize a My Little Pony" swap started: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=80288.0.  I signed up, and decided to practice a bit before I got my partner.  After a quick trip to Toys R' Us, I came up with this, the "Starry Night" pony:

I used this tutorial: http://www.cloverflowers.com/custom/Tutorials.html

The only thing I had a tough time with was rehairing the pony.  I only had really curly dolls' hair, which kept twisting all over the place.  But I'm pretty happy with it, as it is my first customization.
