1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Hollow Book-turned Card on: September 15, 2009 03:38:08 AM
A few months ago it was my friend's birthday and since she's loves books I decided to make her a book-card.
I bought the book at an op shop and proceed to hollow it and then scrapbook the shell! I should have a taken a picture of original book (oh well). Instead I've got some shots of the final thing Smiley

It took AGESS to hollow out the book (using a Stanley knife and elbow grease) but it was so worth it. (btw EHD are her initials-they're not just random lol)

A close up of the scrapbooking in the cover.

Just a random picture lol

Anyway, that's pretty much it, it was heaps of fun to make and when I gave it to her I put a prezzie inside Smiley
Thanks for looking

3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / My first post-fabric book cover on: September 12, 2009 04:04:43 AM
Helloooo  Smiley
I've been looking through crafster for years now but this is my first actual post.(yay!) Anyway, I hope i'm doing it right and sorry if i've made some sillly mistake such as posting this under the wrong topic.

So anyway, I made this about a year ago as a present for a friend who's a bit of a bookworm.

Hopefully above is a pic of the cover on a book! It's so confusing posting pictures so if it doesn't work...d'oh!

Laid out flat. I had to buy the fabrics so it was a bit costly.

Yeh, the spine was a bit of a failure

Fully lined with flaps

And final picture shows just how snuggly it fits on the book.

All in all I'm pretty sure my friend loved it (she sure said so). And that was my first post, hope it's alright. Thanks for looking Smiley
