481  Re: Wall Art Swap 2 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by blupaisan on: October 22, 2010 02:41:04 PM

Ninja_Poo made me this stunning steampunk blueprint of a dirigible. One, I am glad she picked that theme, 'cause I have no steampunk in my house yet, and two, the fact that she made it a blueprint makes it soooo pretty!  Isn't it neat-o?
THank you so much, Ninja_Poo!

482  Re: Ongoing ATC Swap October 2010 in The Swap Gallery by blupaisan on: October 22, 2010 01:33:11 PM

muddy21 sent me this wonderful Abandoned Buildings ATC that features an old ice house on Monhegan Island  in Maine, a place I have always wanted to go. If I ever make it there, though, this structure is finally gone.  I am glad she got a pic of it before it went! She told me the history of it and how they stored ice in it from the nearby pond and sold it all over the place!  I love these bits of history, and this building truly sends me. It is a place I would have loved to explore.
thank you, muddy21 very much!

WideEyedLife and I did an envie swap and I got tons of great goodies in mine!
Here is a close-up of my favorites -

which include a little marroon "rug" that I will use in some crafty way, some gorgeously colored paperclips, an adorable pic of a cabinet, where she cut the doors so they open and I can put cute stuff inside (like nestling kitties and knicknacks), wire which I will use to make a, YAY!, tree of life, some pink vinyl material - perfect for ATC crafting, awesum iron on transfers, and a keychain minibook which will go everywhere with me now!
Then there is this uber neat create-a-castle of Mont-Saint-Michel, which is very appropriate for me since my brother used to mail me postcards of it when he lived in France, and the photo of it is on my parents' wall! It will be a lot of fun to build this in paper.

Lots of other cut-outs for ATC making and cute pics were in my package. It was like opening on Christmas morning!
thank you, WideEyedLife for a bundle of fun.

486  owl jewelry swap in New Swap Theme Ideas by blupaisan on: October 11, 2010 07:09:24 AM

Smiley If I could turn this smiley face into an owl cleverly, somehow I would...  I see that we have a lot of owl swaps here. I am looking for another one, but I wonder if we could get specific and do an owl jewelry swap.  Anyone up for this?-

I got the most wonderful package from rainysunshine789!  I said I liked 50s housewife stuff and here is what she did with my theme - (I also said I wanted something USEABLE and boy, did she come thru!)

She made me a housewife box, and inside is a notebook and index cards which I will use in a bunch of different ways. I cant decide if I should keep my book in my car, or by my computer.... choices choices.  I am a writer, so I am constantly thinking of ideas in my car and needing to write them down right away...  I think I vote for the car.  Then as you can see, she sent me more than that!  She gave me two pieces of jewelry that I can keep in the box!
Here is a close up of the box -

and the back...

I love the background of 50s starburst pattern - a real favorite of mine!!
Closeups of the cool stuff on the notebook -

Then, we have my owl necklace!  I have been on an auction sight bidding on this same pendant... now I actually own it!  I love it!!  It looks great made into a necklace with the dangling beads on it.

and I am so into earrings - you will seldom find me with bare ears. These that rainysunshine789 made for me are so pretty.
thank you for a terrific package.   I truly love it all!!    xx Meg

i got the neatest house from aisy!  I love to touch it - it just begs to be handled. My favorite parts are all the shroomies (she got me down pat!) and the wicked cool iron fence that surrounds the place!

the grass is fuzzy!

the roof has a carved edging.

there are adorable ghosties living here!
thank you so much, aisy! It will be my featured Halloween decoration on my kitchen table.  I love it!
