21  Re: ONGOING ATC SWAP - JULY 2014 - Gallery in The Swap Gallery by blupaisan on: July 20, 2014 05:06:38 PM
got three in the mail yesterday! woo hoo, jackpot.
from  Oath Keeper,
my hidden things theme...
she made Ariel's underwater stash

Fun to look thru and see what is there... check out the forks!  Love how drifting seaweed is closing in on both sides to hide the stuff.
For my cats theme she had this adorbs little baby dreaming of food. Love all the colors and the cutie pie.

thank you, Oath Keeper!

rockingbearranch chose my wildflowers theme and stitched up a delicate flax flower she has at her place. Love it! I grew flax once and got just a few precious blooms. I love how delicate this is, with the thin material (is it flax itself??!!) and the way the strings hang.

some extries came along for the ride...

kitschy and cute stuff that is sooooo me!!
thank you rockingbearranch!

Lookeee what smileyyogini came up with for me!  Peace, peace, peace  was one of my themes. she created a gorgeous peace sign with luvin' turtles in the midst.

Detail of turtles

This piece amazes me! I love the detailed spots on the righthand one. and they are holding 'hands'!!
the background is my alltime fave color...turquoise.
Mel, how did you create the different inner colors for the turtles? I am a hoopla newbie so am clueless about special fx.

got gorgeous extries, too!!

Chock full of bright colors which makes me so happy. when I get beautiful goods, I find it hard to actually use them/let them go.
will be using this altoid tin soon for an altering idea I have.

Plus, smileyyogini took one of my quotes and created this wonderful canvas...

this is going on a very very prominent spot in my bedroom. It is so beautiful! And love the deer at the top. How awesome to get such a large extra treat.
thank you so much, Mel, for this  terrific package. Totally MADE MY DAY!

23  I wanna live in the past... in New Swap Theme Ideas by blupaisan on: July 11, 2014 07:55:07 AM

I have lost track of how many people I have heard say "I don't belong in this century!"  I have always felt the same way, since early childhood.
Some want to go back to the 1800s, some to the 1960s, others to Edwardian England.
Where do you feel you 'fit in?'
I think the crafts potential here is wide open. food created from heirloom plants, old fashioned beauty remedies, sew me a sun bonnet I can wear as I walk on the Oregon Trail, make me wall art in the style of good ol' Charles Rennie Mackintosh, knit me old fashioned socks, vintage greeting cards, the list goes on and on and on. Can even go back to the cave days and make me a rock tool for my garden!!

25  Calling all 50-somethings to answer a toy question.... in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions by blupaisan on: July 09, 2014 11:53:56 AM

I thought there used to be a chit chat off topic board, but I cannot find it, so I am posting my Q here.  I was a 60s child and my first and fave toy was a musicalish twirl round plastic game in which small plastic bears sat in tiny slots. Several colors of bears, each about an inch high. the only thing I have left of this game is one bear piece.

Have used every phrase I can think of on the web to find this vintage toy. Anyone had or have one that can enlighten me?
thanks so much!

here is my Little Old Ladies card (plus an awesomely beautiful old face bonus card) from cmarion3.
I love smiling and silly little old ladies!  I have yet to grow up and I hope not to til the day I die.  will surely be doing this kind of thing when I am eightysomething!
Love the card and how you made it look old, cmarion3. And love the back which I neglected to snapshot, which is a very realistic mini postcard, with stamp!
Still relying on my less-than-capable phone for pics til I get some dough to fix my camera. Please post better pics if ya got em!

I got a vincentvanbuck quilling, too!!
Mine is my Ocean theme.
It is Octopus Kun, an anime type cutie who, for a certain town in Japan that was devastated by a storm, represents renewal, hope, and strength. vincentvanbuck wrote me a great letter about it.
the 'pus has a wee headband on!
I am dying to know how long this type of card takes to make.
I truly love it!!!  Thank you so much.

PS  My camera  does not work, so this is a nasty shot from my phone. Please post a better one, vvb if you have one. (-;

check out this incredibly beautiful 3D card that cmarion3 made for my turquoise theme!
i truly love this! I can't wait to learn how the flowers were made. Their paper is quite sturdy, so I cannot imagine how she got them to bend the way she did.
One tiny bead missing from the center... I found it on the floor of my car and will glue back on today. She went to GREAT lengths to pack this thing well.
Love the wee key, the music, the ribbon, the cogs, and especially the blue cheery flower.
thanks soooo much cmarion3. Gonna hang this baby on my wall!

CDEeeek claimed me for something in turquoise color. AAAAAkk!!  I am thrilled to pieces with this card! Not only awesome color, but an owl! And her eyes are wee flowers. And she has a wood background. I love love this creation.

I also received extries! Papers that I need and specifically white floss for my Hoopla swap. The stationery of the  wee girl and flowers and puppy....  this is exactly the kind of thing I totally drool over when I google vintage stationery. I am gonna frame this cutiepie!!!!!
Thank you, CDEeeek for your talent and generosity. Sorry it took me so long to post... A really crazy story behind that delay, but at last it is up.
