Hi Everyone ... this is my first post with pics so I hope I do this right! ( I think I fixed the problem - my geocities server was down so moved 'em to Craftster) I've been totally sucked into this site looking at everyones projects and getting so INSPIRED! I found Craftster while looking for a tutorial on hangbags and I found so much more!
I had decided that my all time favorite short overalls had seen better days and I wanted to somehow make them into a purse. Since I had never made a bag, I bought a pattern and made one with some $1.00 fabric and a super huge men's polo shirt as lining from the Goodwill:
I was amazed that it turned out well enough to carry. So, I decided I could turn the overalls into something usable too -
I wanted to use all the elements of the overalls, so even though it was a little difficult to get the ribbon off, it was worth it. If I had known it was going to look pretty good I would have gotten some dark blue material, but I used some brighter stuff I had laying around. The pics make it look a little crooked, but luckily it looks fine in person. The side panels and bottom are the demin from the shorts. Anyway, I accomplished my goal - my son looked right at the bag and knew it was my old and very beloved Tweety overalls!
Gotta get back to looking at everyone's stuff ... have a great day!!
