1  Black lingerie set in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Psycho_Bitch on: October 13, 2010 08:24:58 AM
I'm working on lingerie sets for my portofolio. I took pictures of the first set today.

I used a heavy lace fabric for this set.
I drafted the bra pattern myself. The panties are view B from Merckwaerdigh JST6.

c&c welcome Smiley
Thanks for looking.

2  Undies for friends in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Psycho_Bitch on: August 07, 2010 06:49:41 AM
I made a pair of boxershorts for a friend and a bra and a thong for another friend.

The pattern I used for the boxershorts was a free pattern from a Dutch website.
small
medium
large
extra large

instructions

There are probably plenty of pictures in the instructions to figure it out if you don't know any Dutch at all.

I drafted the patterns for the bra and the thong myself, I made some adjustments to the pattern I put up on BurdaStyle

Thanks for looking Smiley

3  Cat eyes bra in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Psycho_Bitch on: May 07, 2010 06:19:43 AM
I wanted to do something different and made a bra that looks like two cat eyes.

I'm not really happy about how it fits though and if I do something like this again, I think I'll just use black sequins in stead of black fabric for the pupils.

4  More undies in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Psycho_Bitch on: April 27, 2010 11:31:30 AM
I'm unable to work or go to university at the moment, so I have time to make undies, lots of undies.
Here's what I made last week:

A bra made out of red lycra with black lace all over it.

A partially padded bra made out of red lycra and the same black lace.
Both bras are lower cut in the middle than my standard pattern and have the apex of the cups moved almost an inch to the center.

Matching panties,

and a matching thong.

The partially padded bra is for myself and the other is for a friend of a friend.

C & C welcome

5  Strapless Bra in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Psycho_Bitch on: April 08, 2010 10:17:48 AM
I made a strapless bra for my sister.
I drafted the pattern myself and lined the cups with padding. Padding is foam between two layers of fabric, this creates a cup similar to a moulded cup.
The bra is made from black spandex (I know it looks dark blue in the pictures, but it really is black). The edges are done with lingerie/picot elastic.

Modeled by the table, because my sister lives on the other side of the country.

6  Bikini with skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Psycho_Bitch on: April 27, 2009 12:48:08 PM
I made a bikini and got it finished in time for my field trip.
The pattern for the top is a modified bra pattern. For the skirt bottom I used a pattern for panties and attached a short circle skirt to it.

I have enough fabric left for another bikini so I'll be able to mix & match Smiley.

7  Re: Design aids - maybe software? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by Psycho_Bitch on: March 13, 2009 12:43:23 PM
When it comes to learning how to sew, it is very usefull to first learn how to stitch along a straight line with your sewing machine and do "exercises" with sewing over spirals, squares etc, just to get the feel of following a certain line to stitch over. It may sound stupid and boring, but it doesn't take too long to do this and it will help a lot, because you'll get to practice with corners and curves, which you wil see in clothing as well. So before you put a piece of clothing under your machine, first get to know your machine, it will make things less frustrating.
I once started a sewing course and this image is similar to one of the exercises (my paint skills aren't good enough to draw a round spiral)

I already had my machine for 2 years before I started the course, but it made a big difference (even though I didn't do all the exercises from the course).

8  Green and blue lace bra and panties in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Psycho_Bitch on: March 11, 2009 01:56:26 PM
I got this beautiful wide green with blue lace in a swap and couldn't resist making a lingerie set from it right away.

So here it is

The bra is probably the best fitting bra I've made so far.
I drafted the patterns for the bra and panties myself and I think I'll use the pattern for the bra with minor modifications for a bikini top.

9  Patterns for panties (sizes small, medium and large) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Psycho_Bitch on: March 01, 2009 08:33:38 AM
I made these panties a while ago and I have drawn the pattern for it in the sizes small, medium and large.

(Click the images to see them full size.)

size small
hip   88-96 cm / 35-38''
waist   62-70 cm / 24-28''

size medium
hip   96-104 cm / 38-41''
waist   70-78 cm / 28-31''

size large
hip   104-112 cm / 41-44''
waist   78-86 cm / 31-34''

You need

Half a meter of 140/150 cm wide (bit more than half a yard of 55/60'' wide) stretch fabric should be plenty for all sizes. You could probably even make 2 or have enough left for a matching bra. The fabric doesn't need vertical stretch as well, but your panties will come out a bit lower over the bum if your fabric only stretches horizontally.
Small piece of jersey crotch lining, 20 cm x 20 cm (8'' x 8'') should be enough. Any cotton with a bit of stretch should do.
About 3 meters of lingerie/picot elastic.

Choosing your size and adjustments

If your fabric is very stretchy and my size chart says you're a bit between small and medium you would probably be fine if you make it in small. If you're just between 2 sizes take the larger size and try the panties on before you add the elastic. If it's too big on your hips, you can easily take it in a little on the sides.

Instructions

Download the pattern sheets, print them with the settings at full page.
Tape the pattern sheets together. I'm sorry, but this might be difficult, though it should be doable if you just slide the patterns over each other until they match up.
Trace the pattern pieces. You can choose between low rise and high rise, by tracing the A or B line at the top of the back and front. The crotch piece is a separate piece when you make the panties, so trace it separately. Add seam allowances of 0.75 cm (1/3 inch), I find it easier to do this on your traced pattern with stretch fabrics, because they're difficult to mark.
Cut the front and back piece of your panties on the fold. Make sure that you have the stretch direction of your fabric horizontally.
Cut your crotch piece once out of your fashion fabric and once out of your crotch lining.
Pin your fashion crotch piece wrong sides to the front piece.
Pin the lining with the wrong side to the wrong side of the front piece and sew (you may want to baste this first).
Pin and sew the crotch pieces the same way to the back piece.
This way you won't have exposed seams.
Sew the sides of the front and back pieces right sides together with an imitation serger stitch. If you have a serger, use it for these seams.
Now try for size, because not every stretch fabric has the same amount of stretch.
If the panties fit, you can attach the elastic.
Set your machine to a triple zigzag (or a normal zigzag if your machine doesn't have it).
Put your elastic on the right side of the top (where the waist is) of your panties. Make sure the softest side of your elastic is up and the picots are pointed towards the fabric.
Like on this drawing that shows my mad paint skills Wink

Stitch the elastic on as you stretch it a little.
Fold the elastic to the inside and stitch again.
Finish the leg openings the same way.

If the instructions aren't clear, please let me know. English isn't my first language and I'm not always sure how to explain something.

10  Black and purple padded bra in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Psycho_Bitch on: February 09, 2009 08:16:08 AM
Yesterday I finished making the first padded bra that I made for myself.

The pattern I used is Merckwaerdigh BHS10 view E, with some adjustments, because I was too lazy to draw a pattern myself.
