571  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Vintage Halloween Swap Round 2 - signups Aug 15-22 - sendout Sept 22 2008 on: August 29, 2008 02:26:43 PM
eep - you poor thing!

Thanks. It happens every Sept. here though. This area was hit by "Rita" in '05 and I'm a bit gun shy now. Plus, my mother is elderly and I can't take a chance of waiting for them to call an evacuation. It's always a gamble as to how early to get away.

I hope you won't be disappointed in your gift. I felt really good about it until I looked at last year's swap. So much awesome stuff! I'll do my best though, I promise.  Smiley

I've got everything collected and sitting on my kitchen table.  And my husband did look at it, look at me, and just shake his head

LOL I actually consider that a good sign.

Be careful! At least the crafting will distract you from the awful weather.

That's the great thing about crafting, it gives you something to take your mind off things. Last time this happened I ended up with three weeks to cross stitch. I spent it all making Halloween stuff.  Smiley

I live on the gulf coast so I shall spend my weekend running from a hurricane. But never fear, pardner, I'm taking my project with me.  Grin

Your bf bowed at your feet, right?

He'd better if he knows what's good for him. lol

Milhouse rocks! The stitching on this is perfection.

I have the supplies gathered for the "doing". Now I need to be thinking about what to do for the "finishing". (I always get ahead of myself)
576  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Crane wings and steam - first proper freehand embroidery! on: August 26, 2008 10:35:19 AM
Wow, I can't believe this is freehand. I find it a hoot that you decided to do an x-ray wing so as not to have to stitch the same thing twice. I kind of feel the same way about duplications. lol The feathery wing has beautiful colors and the x-ray wing emphasizes both the fragility and strength of the subject.

Boring? I disagree. This looks good on that yellow blanket. I love yellow cars. I just don't know how anyone stitiches on fleece. Amazing job.

Adorable boys and awesome stitiching. I like all these but I think your fairy would be the one I'd want.

Wow, you got some good eyes. This is gorgeous, and so detailed for such a small piece. Beautiful.

You know, anytime you do a project that is all one color like this it's hard to finish, but this was worth the effort. It looks sharp.
