12  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Bonnets!! O.O on: March 27, 2009 12:08:48 AM
Yes Bonnets! I need help from all of you on how to make one. I have to make one for a contest at my local TOPS group, it is a contest that is for easter. I wanted to make mine instead of making it from something else. I do have some reference pictures for ideas I thought of.

First I thought of traditional.

Then old school strawberry shortcake: Cheesy

Any sort of help with how to make either of these kinds of bonnets would be much appericated! Thank you!

16  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Kimono Help! on: November 14, 2008 03:57:44 PM
Weren't kimono traditionally layered--i.e. multiple kimono worn at once? Sometimes several thin layers will be warmer than one or two thicker layers.

Well this is just a project for theatre, and I don't have the time to do multiple layers by hand. If i had more time I would but it would take up way to much time.

And Ludi thanks for the links.
17  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Kimono Help! on: November 13, 2008 03:26:29 PM
Alright so I am planning on sewing up a kimono for a theatre project. We were learning about kabuki and a kimono would be a help. I have some of this beautiful fabric and I have a simplicity pattern as well. Simplicity 5839, I got it a couple years ago. I want to use more, warm fabrics, because when I present it, the day wil be in December. Any suggestions for some warm yet lightweight fabric that I could use for a kimono? I have a reference picture

This is not the one I want to make like pattern wise on the fabric but the winter kimono style. Any help would be wonderful
