2  Bonnets!! O.O in Costumes: Discussion and Questions by roseangelhope on: March 27, 2009 12:08:48 AM
Yes Bonnets! I need help from all of you on how to make one. I have to make one for a contest at my local TOPS group, it is a contest that is for easter. I wanted to make mine instead of making it from something else. I do have some reference pictures for ideas I thought of.

First I thought of traditional.

Then old school strawberry shortcake: Cheesy

Any sort of help with how to make either of these kinds of bonnets would be much appericated! Thank you!

4  Kimono Help! in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by roseangelhope on: November 13, 2008 03:26:29 PM
Alright so I am planning on sewing up a kimono for a theatre project. We were learning about kabuki and a kimono would be a help. I have some of this beautiful fabric and I have a simplicity pattern as well. Simplicity 5839, I got it a couple years ago. I want to use more, warm fabrics, because when I present it, the day wil be in December. Any suggestions for some warm yet lightweight fabric that I could use for a kimono? I have a reference picture

This is not the one I want to make like pattern wise on the fabric but the winter kimono style. Any help would be wonderful

5  Blood+ Costume Woo! [image big] in Halloween Costumes by roseangelhope on: October 30, 2008 03:10:34 PM
Well this is actually a recon but eh, It's my halloween costume or one of them. I took two scrap t-shirts fixed them into a hospital night gown type thing and there is the result! I'm so proud of it! Blood+ is one of my favorite animes and I wanted to make a costume for it. So I made Saya's outfit when she was in Vietnam during the war.

Pink shorts! ^_^

Alright well awhile back I saw this tute to make a hat, sadly I forgot the link for it however the credit for the pattern goes to a talented person on deviant art. Also I didn't just want a regular old hat I wanted something different, and looking through some of my favorite animes I found him!

and after doing a happy dance finding what I am going to make I made this cute hat!

And my inspiration was...Momiji Sohma!

Who, if you have seen the anime Fruits Basket turns into this littly guy

7  Sleeve Chaos! Someone Help! in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by roseangelhope on: October 10, 2008 07:55:05 PM
Alright so I wanted to make this dress from an inspiration of a couple things and it is almost done besides a couple hems...however when I sewed in the sleeves I could of almost screamed.

The sleeves slide off my shoulders... leaving virtually no support to keep the dress up besides keeping my arms tucked under my arms.
* It can go up, it just doesn't have the will to as shown in this picture

I seriously need some help here my fellow crafters....please help. I do have this choker necklace that is not pictured that ties around my neck. Maybe i can connect something to that to hold up the sleeves? I'm not sure but please help! ( also sorry for the shaky pictures)
