4  Re: Geocaching / Letterboxing Gallery! (Send Outs 5-16-11) in The Swap Gallery by erinrosemary on: May 19, 2011 06:47:25 PM
I opened my package from curiousfae today!  Grin Sadly, my laptop broke which was the only computer that I could upload photos from my camera from..so I had to resort to crappy cell phone pics. Anyways, here it is:

First off: My name on geocaching and letterboxing sites is silverfox so she made me a fox stamp!

Second, i had mentioned thinking about a letterbox summer camp series. So she made me some stamps to go with it! Here is all the stamps together along with the stamp pads she sent to go with them!:

Theres a canoe, tent, campfire, and a smore..sadly the campfire picture didn't take i guess though..ill try to get one later this weekend.

Lastly I had asked for a plain bag to carry my stuff in so she made me a bag in my favorite color and even embroidered my geocaching name!

Thanks for everything! I can't wait to try this stuff out! Now, if it would only quit raining! lol

5  Make a card for a child with leukemia! in Crafty Charitable/Social Causes by erinrosemary on: March 28, 2011 01:10:24 PM
Hey all! I'm reposting my card from the paper craft section to help share this easily done good deed. I hope other craftsters will follow my lead! I recently learned of this story that was shared with me on Facebook. Max is a 12 year old boy diagnosed with leukemia (sp?). The ONLY thing he wanted for was to receive one million cards. After hearing this i quickly looked through my short stash and came up with this card in about a half hour.

Here is the link to the facebook invite
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=134276053310807&index=1#!

(Copy and past the whole link)
There is also an article that another craftster found telling about the story
http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20110316/NEWS03/103160351/Munson-Worldwide-deluge-mail-Mighty-Max-

If that doesn't work and you wish to send a card, you can send a card to:

Let's help make this kid's wish come true my fellow craftsters!

7  Another mario quilt for the bf in Quilting: Completed Projects by erinrosemary on: September 03, 2010 02:23:24 AM
So my bf has been seeing the pixelated mario quilts and been wanting one..honestly I really dont have time to cut out all those squares though. I was inspired by xperimentl's painted lego duvet cover though as seen here:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=356261.0

So i decided I could paint the characters in squares instead. Two weeks worth of blood, sweat, and tear's, here's another mario quilt:

My favorite ones that i think turned out the best are in the middle as seen here

For the back I used soft and comfy fabric from Jo Ann's. it was a pain in the butt to work with. Hence the reason the only quilting done on it was around the squares. Also why the binding is a bit wonky but i think he'll enjoy it.
Here's a picture of the back color

8  Re: 80s Cartoon Swap Rd 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by erinrosemary on: August 06, 2010 09:25:30 PM
I figure I would post pictures from Qwiltykate since she has recieved. First up since she requested items for her daughter her daughter recieved

A care bear chalkboard to hang up somewhere

A care bear bean bag toss game..i didnt take a picture but there is three bean bags of each color and the buckets are numbered by point value meaning you put the lowest point value closest to you.

This one is a matching mom and daughter item

matching crazy cat lady from the simpsons journals to doodle/create and what not..i thought the crazy cat lady was a good picture to put on a journal don't you? lol

Next up were the items for qwiltykate. She mentioned she wanted items for her sewing room and in her wist she wanted something like this

Its a pin cushion/thread catcher that has a pocket to put your scissors that you set by the sewing machine.

Since I had this panel sitting around for ages i thought why not use it! So going with the care bear theme is...

Another one of her favorite shows was the simspons so i made her this

It's a simpsons thread holder with the characters painted on the top ones..i left the name plate blank and sent a yellow paint pen so kwiltykate can add her own name or whatever she wants to write on it. Smiley

Next up: some smurfette earrings

Then in her info she said she crocheted so if shes anything like me, she uses alot of stitch markers. Here i made some based on the simpsons characters she likes

And the last and piece de resistance is a crocheted care bear. She mentioned she wanted one in her questionaire and that her favorite was the purple bear so i give you crocheted share bear.

Got a bunch to post! Here they are:]

Some words fell off in the mail. I assume it was meant to say: Sometimes I wish I was a gay man?

back:

"I think it's a combination of all the cool people in films/tv being men, and that I'm actually incredibly camp but have to hide it so people don't think I'm a complete nutjob.

I feel like theres a huge barrier between us.

I could spend all day eating corn.

There aren't words for how much i want to be with you

I haven't went in 13 years.

I tell everyone im named after a song by a very cool band.
Back

He's the light of my life, but I'm so lonely.
