rockingbearranch - love the ATCs!  karasu is crow in Japanese, so you probably know which one's my favorite.  Wink

craftADDchick - thanks so much!  and after a while, it wasn't so much a matter of sticking with it, it was a matter of obsession.  it was all I thought about!!!  I dreamed about cross stitching, that's how bad it got.  lol

roler - thanks for having me!  Team Multimedia is where I belonged back when I first got involved in the games, and it's still where I belong now.  Grin  and like I said above, the cross stitch became an obsession.  pretty much everything else took a backseat to that project.  I'm still trying to decide if I want to make my current project a research project or just go with the appropriate prompt.  I kinda want to go with the "three billy goats gruff" fairy tale challenge since it uses 9 colors, and I'm not certain that this one will take me 3 weeks.  my last project like this didn't...I think.  but yes, Manson is proudly displayed on my wall.  if you go to the project link, you can see a slightly washed-out picture of it (I say that because the color of my wall is all wrong.  it's supposed to be a pretty mint green, not whatever color that is in the pic).

also, I love your raven, skull brooch, and Japanese rug mug!!!  three of my FAVORITE things!!!

puzzled-penguin - thank you so much!  yes, this thing did require some patience.  there were times I did have to put it down since I lost mine from time to time.  personally, I'm surprised I'm not bald with all the hair tearing I did.  Undecided  but I did it.  and I still have my hair.  Cheesy

congrats to the winners of "the first" badges!  wish I could snag that billy goats one, but I can't think of anything simpler than my cross stitch to meet the requirements, and it's going to be a while before it's done.  oh well.  there's always next month.  Smiley

I would love to have one of those nifty signatures in the bottom of my post, saying "50 projects 2016" with a link to my list. I remember making it last year (with some help), but when I tried doing it this year, I just ended up with a long link-address.  I don't know what I did wrong, and I can't find it under FAQ. Does anyone have a link to a tutorial? (feling stupid  Embarrassed)

[ url=http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=442282.msg5359711#msg5359711 ]50 projects 2016[/url ]

take out ALL of the spaces.  there's one in front of "url", at the end of the url, and one after "url" at the end.  BAM!  link to your list saying "50 projects 2016".  Smiley

also, don't feel stupid.  I didn't know how to do this kind of stuff for a very long time.  but thanks to sites like Craftster where I had to learn how to turn a picture into a link and MySpace where I had to learn how to decorate my profile (way back when MySpace was cool), I learned a thing or two about simple coding.  but that is the layout you need to make links like that.  when you're typing up a comment, it'll be the little globe with the piece of paper (second row of buttons, second button in from the left).  just add = after the first "url", paste the url, then type whatever you want ] here [.

*^_^*

why thank you, audio.  and trust me, I don't always have that patience.  lol.  I put it down many, many times because I would mess up the pattern or I'd just stab my fingers one too many times.  Tongue

love all of the glitter ornaments.  all of them.  glitter!!!  lol.  I have a huge love/hate relationship with glitter.  it doesn't help when you inventory stores that sell glittery goods.  you look at all the pretties, but go home itching and scratching and screaming because you're covered head to toe in glitter.  Tongue Cheesy

Research Project Name: Marilyn Manson cross stitch
Team: Multimedia
Project Link: Marilyn Manson cross stitch
Brief Description: 3 week requirement?  fine.  but I blew that out of the water.  try (roughly) 17 MONTHS.
some time in 2013, I became OBSESSED with Marilyn Manson.  I did a simpler, much, much smaller cross stitch before tackling this one.  it made me want a bigger one.  so, I broke out my pattern maker (upload picture, out comes a pattern) and came up with this work of art.  I'm so happy with it, I just wish the black and darkest grey had blended better.
done on 28 count Evenweave in 7 colors, 89,102 stitches, approximately 10in X 10in.

and did I ever mention that I recently-ish finished the research project I proposed back in 2014Grin  I'm just so proud of the thing.  it took me roughly 17 months rather than the required 3 weeks.

Congratulations!  Post it over in the current thread to get the points!  The Research Project Submission Header can be found in the Research Lab.

aww...no UFO bonus.  oh well.  100 points helps!  and thank you!

WOW!  that's quite the project dump!

my fave would have to be the reindeer!!!  my grandma taught me how to make those critters and I made tons of them when I was a kid!!!

but everything else is great too.  that reindeer just has a special place in my heart.

whatthepuck, that's a really pretty locket!  did you have to paint it or did it come that way?  I've never seen them in anything but metallics myself, but I love the color of yours (looks like turquoise and I'm slightly obsessed with turquoise).

I bought it turquoise. It was the first time I've seen one that was a color. I thought it would be more beach-y looking.

lucky lucky!  and it looks really pretty with the shells.  now I have to be on the lookout for colored lockets!

ok.  I'm confused.  it's been so long since I took part in one of these, so I forget how to do it.  a UFO can be a stand alone project (with bonus points for incorporating the current theme, in this case the color red) OR bonus points, correct?  am I reading the charts and explanations correctly?

Yes, there is a UFO prompt, which is the one for which you can earn the the "Red" Bonus Points. There is one UFO prompt per season (this season is the Manises Incident).  This project must be a WIP/UFO, and under the Prompt section on the Completed Project Header you will enter UFO.

There is also a separate UFO Bonus Points option that can be added to ANY project that is a WIP/UFO.  So, for instance, you can turn in a project for the Battle Royale, and if it meets the UFO/WIP requirements, you can claim the UFO Bonus Points.

I think I'll rename one of them at some point...I'm just realizing how confusing it is  Tongue

ah!  thank you!!!  it all makes sense now!!!  thank you, LovelyMiss!!!    I could have gone for UFO w/red bonus with the latest project I posted in the 50 projects craftalong if I had just added a red necktie instead of a black one.  that manikin project has been sitting on the back shelf since 2013 I think.  I bought the manikin just for that project, but lost my craft groove.  I started to get it back a few days ago and have been crafting away, so I pulled him out and finished him!  but he's so simple, I don't want to waste my one shot for the month on him.  I have plenty of other projects that fit the prompt, and most of them do or could include red since I'm making everything for myself and one of my favorite colors is red.  lol

and did I ever mention that I recently-ish finished the research project I proposed back in 2014Grin  I'm just so proud of the thing.  it took me roughly 17 months rather than the required 3 weeks.
