Wow! Very cool, where do you find all your fabulous buttons?

Thanks! I bought some tubes of random buttons at Hobby Lobby a while back. I found them by the check out counters for $1 a tube and bought like 3 of them Cheesy
I love things like that...grab bag types of things Smiley

I saw that you had posted these in our group too, but myspace is having another major brain fart so I couldn't look at them there.   Sad

I do love these though.   Grin

and I love grab bag things too.  I almost always buy the "Boss' Bead Bag" from Fire Mountain and just the other day I found little tubs of mixed beads (mostly) and findings at Big Lots.  I bought 3 of them and spent a day sorting them.

well, for me it goes...

large: 100%
large 2: 75%
medium: 0%
medium 2 (?): 0%
small: 100%
small 2: 100%

you girls won't believe what I consider large and small once you see what I've made.  you'll think one way, but it'll actually be another way.  I guarantee it.  I've just become so good at certain things that it takes me no time at all to make them any more.   Grin

I'll be working on at least one medium this week.  with my family having been here last weekend and my wanting to spend time with my video game on my days off, I haven't been down to the basement to work on anything...especially since I had to clean up EVERYTHING so my cousin's little dachshund wouldn't get into my stuff.  god I miss Hokie...

my cousin and his wife went to Virginia Tech   Wink
3903  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Little Big Planet on: August 22, 2008 10:42:03 PM
The shape of the mouth is difficult because those little guys aren't really knitted. They're 3d modelled and the knitted texture is just slapped on. Makes it a bit trickier since you can't just look at them as a knitted object and see how it was done. Annoying...

I'm sure there's some way to create a mouth looking like that, but it's beyond me to figure out how. Smiley I think the best thing to do is to find a similar pattern and then modify it. The mouth could be stitched on afterwards if you don't want to use another method.

actually, it's not like it can't be done.  yes, the actual characters are pixelated and textured, but it's not like it can't be done.  check it out: http://www.mediamolecule.com/2008/02/06/sackboy-fo-real/

He looks AMAZING! Makes me wonder about the game itself - this is the first I've heard of it.

seriously?HuhHuh?

well, I guess my working at GameStop helps, but really, this game looks truly amazing.  it seems like it would be the number one reason for me to buy a PS3.

I want someone to make me one.  I'm not a knitter, but I can make something else in return.  kinda like a swap-type deal.  if anyone ever figures this out, could we swap...pretty please???  with sugar on top?

Thanks for your comments and condolences. She was a very special girl.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Cry

I love these.  the cross bones one is my favorite of the 2.

the little moon looks like it's made of Rhodonite or Lepidolite, but I'm leaning toward Rhodonite.  it does make a great accent.  Smiley

great job!

Thanks for the info. on the little moon. I'm curious now. I'll have to see if any of my rockhound buddies have any. Grin

no problem.  I'm into jewelry making and I get my stuff from Fire Mountain Gems and Beads.  the stone looked familiar, so I checked their website.  that's where my info came from.   Tongue

love it!  I had always wanted to paint things on my walls too, but decided against it when I realized it would mean getting rid of the crap on my walls (I love all my junk!)

nice walls by the way.  they look strangely familiar...

hey, think I can get in on this idea too?   Tongue

I've seen so many pictures of yummy-looking sweets from Japan and since my manager won't be going to Japan this year, something like this seems to be my only hope!

in case no one has heard, the official date for the push back is July 17, 2009.  that's a long friggin' ways away.  I'm sad now.  Sad

but this swap should cheer me up.  all I can think about is Harry Potter stuff.

and I'm so excited about the stuff I won on eBay.  2 costume cards and a nice 8x10 of Daniel.   Grin  I still need a patch...
