great job!

crap-tastic teaser time!

it's crap-tastic because all of my pictures came out so BLURRY!!!   Cry

ok...so I sorta fixed the blurriness.  problem is...some of the pictures had to be made pretty small.   Sad  hopefully when my partner gets her stuff, she'll get better pictures.

3785  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: HP swap item. if you're partnered with me, please don't ruin your surprise!!! on: December 02, 2008 08:53:42 AM
thank you so much everyone!

and I e-mailed Christi about wanting to share this picture with her and she said to go ahead and send it, but she never commented back.   Sad  she probably just got really busy.

thanks again!!!

thank you so much!   Grin

I know I could have done better, but for my first attempt, I'm super happy with it.  then again, the artist is usually the one who is most critical of their piece, so I should just shut up now.   Roll Eyes
3787  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / HP swap item - polyclay phoenix *updated!* on: December 02, 2008 12:04:20 AM
my partner received her package, so I can now show off this item.   Grin

this is my first real attempt at working with polyclay...whether you want to believe it or not after looking at this.

my Harry Potter swap partner likes phoenixes, and it just so happens that I had found this really pretty project in one of my jewelry making magazines.  it's called "Two Turtle Doves" by polyclay artist Christi Friesen (http://www.cforiginals.net/)

I thought this would make a great opportunity to make a phoenix for my partner.  so...I did.

this is pre-varnish, so it's not as bright of a red in this pic as it is in real life (and the top of the wing doesn't look so weird).  plus, it's kinda hard to see the sparkles.  I used cherry red and red effects Fimo.  this thing measures about 6"x3".

tell me what you think   Smiley

now you can see the finished product here!
3788  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Pastel Portrait on: December 01, 2008 08:34:54 PM
this is beautiful!

in the little mini picture on the main page, I thought it was a photograph of a real dog!  I thought some one was showing their photography skills.

I bet my aunt and uncle would love one of these of their little Chihuahua...
3789  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Christmas Ornament Swap Gallery on: December 01, 2008 08:25:43 PM
I'm also a little partial to the ornaments I received, but those Altoid tins...WOW!  I never would have thought of making something like that.

everyone is just so crafty and talented!!!

being a beader myself and not having skills at quite that level yet, I am totally jealous of that flower!!!

I can't wait to see more stuff as the rest of us get finished up!
