3771  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Anime/Manga Swap 4!! on: June 10, 2009 09:35:33 AM
Lol, I read all the posts! Must have overlooked it somehow. Earthian is about angels, one of whom has black wings and never STFU about it. It's done by the same mangaka who did Loveless, which is probably why you've heard of it. It's uber cheesey and 80's, but I love it to pieces.

you know what, that's my bad.  I mentioned it in the discussion thread, not here.  oops.  Cheesy

I just went to my bedroom to look at my CD collection and find out why I was familiar with the name.  way, WAY back when Napster was cool, I made myself a CD of a bunch of anime music.  the Earthian theme just so happens to be one of the songs on my CD.  I'm not sure how I found it, but I loved it.  this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1EsPFjuE14&feature=PlayList&p=BE8B5EBFDFEAA82A&index=1.  the bad thing for me is that it was cut off so watching that video was the FIRST time I've ever heard it all the way through.  now I don't know where to find the full MP3.  Sad

Oh man, do I ever want to join... I only like the obscure stuff. Anyone here into Petshop of Horrors? Earthian? If someone says yes I am definetely joining. I'm so obsessed with PSOH it's just sad.

I guess you didn't read my post on that.  one of my favorites is Pet Shop of Horrors.  Grin  and why does Earthian sound familiar...
3773  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: "lucky" for someone, I dealt with the jewel tone thread ;) on: June 10, 2009 07:49:49 AM
Wow, you have mad skills!!!!....and the patience of a saint!  Excellent job!  Love it! Smiley

and very sore fingers and one thumb!  lol.  for some reason my left thumb always aches right at the knuckle where it attaches to the hand.  never have achy pain anywhere else.  then, my fingers are sore from poking myself with the needle.  maybe one day I'll develop a callus.  Cheesy

and thank you both.  it'll be hard to part with it.  he's just so cute!

I don't know why, but the pink shows up very light compared to real life and compared to the rest of the thread.  hmmm...
3774  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: earring addiction swap GALLERY! on: June 10, 2009 07:42:59 AM
glad you like them.  and that they got there so quickly!  from now on, I'm typing/printing out ALL addresses!!!  lol  Cheesy

Yeah I agree!!  I usually do print them all out, but I figured for a small envelope I might as well write them, but obv now I know better eh!!  Roll Eyes

that's the way I looked at it too.  for small boxes/envelopes, I was just writing them out.  but for big boxes, I usually print them, though for the last big boxes, I think I wrote them...but yeah.  no more writing them out!  printing only!!!   Cheesy
3775  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / lucky maneki neko x-stitch bookmark on: June 10, 2009 07:39:51 AM
so I just got back into cross stitch a few weeks ago and I've been making all kinds of stuff.  I'm still working on a potholder for myself, but it's not finished yet.  it will be posted as soon as I'm done with it, of course.  but for now, I give you this:

I found the Maneki Neko sprite on some website (stupid me, I didn't save it) found it, used this website to make her name pattern (I found it using Wikipedia.  can you believe it??), then used my Japanese/English dictionary to make the "un" pattern.  that's Japanese for "luck" (that is what my dictionary states and it is a reputable one.  the website I checked it against says otherwise.  it's wrong, I'm right).  he's one stitch longer than the sprite that I used, but you'd never know it unless you studied both pictures.  I wasn't paying attention to where I put a stitch until I was on the opposite side of the pattern.  so I just went with it.  but like I said, you'd never know it.  I'm just anal like that.  Tongue

what do you think?

ok.  I looked at pinkleo's post.  I can handle my swaps with that much crafting time.  all of my swaps have long crafting periods and I love that.  so I can do another.  besides, 2 will be ending in July and then the other 2 will be in August.  this works out very well for me.  Smiley

I may have to lay off the big swaps for a bit.  I'm involved in 3 BIG swaps right now (though only one has officially started) and I don't want to feel suddenly overwhelmed.  I may have to wait for round 9.  Wink
