3671  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: *twilight: Longing for New Moon* ~SIGNUPS: June 11-22~SENDOUTS Aug 28~ on: June 18, 2009 08:04:48 PM
e6000 is great but latexy when it dries. & it doesn't do too well on porous surfaces like leather. gorilla glue is the best for things like rock and wood I think...you just have to be careful about spillover cuz it poofs out as it dries. you can also sand it down though, but that's hard to do in the crevices.

gorilla glue used to be my glue-all, until it started hardening in the tip.  I did exactly as the directions told me and yet it still gets clogged.  I have a TON left in the bottle, but because of that, I may have to throw it away and get a new one.  Sad

I'm sorta stuck for this one and another one.  this one hasn't started yet, so I have some time before I really need to get going.  the other one has started and I'm getting nervous since I'm stuck.  the good thing is, all these swaps (except the bead one.  I'm not worried about that one) have long craft periods and I've got a really good start on one of them.

glad I picked some up then.  Wink

oh, and I forgot to mention...I'm liking The Messengers so far.  Kristen's acting is pretty good (and I love that she owned a boy at hoops in front of all his buddies  Wink)  plus, there are tons of crows.  Grin  my favorite bird.

krafty, that house is too cute!, i might feel the urge to make a wee lil house now.

isn't it though?  the more I look at it and the more we talk about it, the more I want to make one!  lol

one question...what does anyone think one might stick 2 rocks together?  hot glue?  e6000?  gorilla glue??

It's my birthday on Sunday and I'm doing my very best to have a Twilight party. I just have to find time to make my (third ever) cake tomorrow. I really suck at baking. But I'm ok at decoration; I made a pretty nifty Superman cake last year. Cheesy

Krafty, that house is adorable. I actually have a pattern for making an amazing cottage trinket box whixh I was going to try and do for the last swap, but didn't have the materials. Next time, eh?

happy early b-day!

a pattern for a trinket box?  where did you find that?  it sounds like fun!  I want so badly to make a little rock house of some kind too.  but no time for large crafts for myself.  I have too many swaps to make anything larger than a book thong (I have new mangas I need to make matching thongs for).

That is a darling fairy house!  I bet a slightly larger one would be pretty easy to accomplish in the Bella/Edward style.  Maybe in the size to sit on a shelf, coffee table or mantle.  *thinks about the logistics of it*
I don't know if someone has done it, but if I had the time/patience I think that a needlepoint/cross stitch would be pretty cool.  I've not seen a kit for it or anything, but I know you can make your own cross stitch patterns online with any image, I just can't remember the name of the site right now.  Cheesy
Is there anything that y'all feel is overdone as a Twilight craft?  Cheesy  I know that this could be a rough question, since it's for sure that at least one of us in this thread does it, but still, it's worth asking for future reference.
Also, a side question, does anyone know WHERE Rosalie's turning bite is located?  I can't remember if it was ever stated.

I'm sure it would, so I want to make a bigger one now.  Grin

I think I know what website you're talking about, but I don't know the name either.  if the pattern is in black and white with symbols, I could probably do it, but color is a little harder unless shades are really grouped.  like simple sprites from video games.  that's mostly what I use right now.

I have no idea where anyone's bite locations are.  lol.  well, Edward's is on his neck right?

something I'd like to see accomplished?  my cottage.  in both of these swaps, I've said my favorite place is Edward and Bella's little home.  I call it a little fairy house.  that's what I saw when I read BD.  I have the most adorable fairy house made from a rock, some pebbles, some things off a pine cone, some flowers and a little paint that I found in Berea, Kentucky.  I would love to have Edward and Bella's home made with things like that, PLUS maybe a little fairy garden.  I'm not good at stuff like that, that's why I would love to see someone who is do it.

do you have a pic of it? ive always wanted to make a fairy house, but a bella/edward fairy cottage...too cute, but..im struggling on size references/actual make up.

that's my little fairy house.  Grin  and yes, I got that stupid quarter to sit on its edge.

I've wanted to be a vampire since I was seven so werewolves really have no competition. They just smell funny. Cheesy

yeah I've wanted to be a vampire ever since I can remember.  not one of the freaks out there in the real world who are human and drink human blood (sickos), but a movie/book vampire.  the kind that really does live forever and really don't contract diseases from drinking human blood.  though I'm kinda liking the vegetarian version...

I have wanted to be nothing but a vampire since I was little bitty like 5 when I saw that old movie twice bitten or something like that. Then when my big girl teeth came in and I had real live fangs I was like WOO HOO I am a vampire! The Dentist however decided to make them shorter cause he sucks and not in the good way either something about problems in later life or something I wanted to keep them but, when you are underage your mom gets to choose for you. Anyways back on topic I like the veggie way but, I am an animal lover so I don't know which would be harder you know.

when I can finally afford it, I plan on getting Kate Beckinsale Underworld mini fangs.  you know, the cute little short ones that almost just look like regular teeth.  and, I've always wanted 4 sets.  one set on the upper canines, one set on the lower canines, and then another 2 sets on the upper and lower incisors.  Grin  but I'll just get the one set.

and yeah, I like animals too...

and Once Bitten rocks!  such a cheesy 80's vampire movie, but it's awesome!

Because I am a serious geek and I know things like this, I checked IMDB's site. Breaking Dawn is listed as being released in 2011. Smiley
I think she meant in her mind, as in hard to do right even if you allow them leeway.

see, IMDb is like Wikipedia.  I don't trust either because both can be edited by anyone (though it's harder to do on IMDb, but I have done it numerous times).  it says that Silent Hill 2 is coming out next year (it used to say this year) but no one has picked it up, and therefore is incorrect information for the time being.  so I'm not counting on BD coming out in 2011 until there is actual information from a reliable source.
