oh no!!!  I was so late in signing up for this month that I never looked at the gallery until I got my first card!!!

the elves in winter card is beautiful.  the Sneguruchka is super cute.  those little mice!!!  ♥  that unlikely greeting card...I can't breathe I'm laughing so hard!!!

I received an absolutely adorable card from curiousfae that I will post in a moment.  forgot to take a picture of it before writing this post.  Roll Eyes

attempt #1 at blu's card = fail.  my turquoise looks green.  like, pine green.  Undecided  on to attempt #2.

I appreciate this effort soooo much!!  I am very picky about 'real' turquoise color.

insert grateful emoticon here.

as am I.  the second attempt went much better.  used a different medium and it's a nice "real" turquoise.

I know, right?!  I don't know if I'd have the patience to make something like those snowflakes.  I say this as I sit here working on yet another slightly crazy cross stitch project.  lol.

and thank you!  this, like anything Halloween/fall, Easter/spring, and winter items, will stay up all year.  Grin  I have it hanging from my ceiling near a vent that moves them around a little whenever the heat/air kicks on.

thank you.  Grin  despite what I say about winter and snow, I do love both...as long as I don't have to ever be out in it.  lol.  so of course I jumped at the chance to make use of these.

my dad made a new friend last week.  he's a woodworker and has made lots of wooden...doodads (for lack of a better term since my brain has given up on me at the moment) from trees on his property (like 22 acres I think he said).  he gave my dad these wooden snowflakes he made, which of course my dad then gave to me.  I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them.  some of the snowflakes are made from 6 different kinds of wood as you can see by the different colors.  I don't know exactly what kinds were used, but I know cedar was definitely one of them.  it's the only one I can smell.  lol

closeup of one of the snowflakes to better see the different woods used.

I just marked off the places to hang them from around the inner ring of an embroidery hoop, then put it back together.  it's currently being displayed on a hanger in my doorway since I had no other way to take a picture of it.  I need to get a hook in my ceiling tomorrow, but I couldn't wait that long to show it off.  Grin
