11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: Black & Mint beaded jewelry set on: November 15, 2014 09:08:05 PM
That necklace is just amazing!
Is the wire you used hard or soft? Did you make circles with a string of beads and fasten them or are they woven? I can't stop looking at them, they are really lovely.

sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.  I've been sulking...

but anyway, thank you!  I just used beading wire to make the circles and used crimp beads and crimp bead covers to close them.  nothing fancy and something that was was sure wouldn't just fall apart after a short time.

now I want me some spicy fava beans!  I've never had them before (heck, I've never even seen them), but now I need to go find some!  thanks for sharing!

Thank you all

I first saw these beads on Pinterest too, and decided that I must have them Smiley

These are Czech beads, and various online and brick and mortar stores carry them. They should be listed under Czech, either as beads or seed beads, depending on the classification the store uses. Beadaholique has rather nice selection.

There are two types of those - SuperDuo and Twin. Superduo are uniform and make a nice scaly texture, while Twin is less uniform and meshes better with seed beads.

brick and mortar stores, eh?  I have a few I can stop by this weekend and see if they carry them.  it looks like Fire Mountain Gems & Beads carries the Twin, so that's good to know.  but I see a lot of the bead stores online that I've been looking at carry the Duos.  just what I need; MORE BEADS!!!  Cheesy

hi all, still alive.  Smiley

my research project is killing me.  I'm not even half done with it (told you it would take more than 3 weeks).  I work on it every day though, so it's not like I don't have anything done.  a friend wants to see the WIP, so I'll probably pop the picture up on here too.

so yeah...I'm still alive.  heh.

I've just been working SO hard on my cross stitch project that I haven't really done anything else except some school work and pin like crazy on Pinterest.  and next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, I get a good portion of my days taken away from me due to recovery from surgery.  but if it's like others have told me (and my doctor), it won't be so bad.  I may still be able to work on my cross stitch since it's not another shoulder surgery.  Tongue

not only am I obsessed with this project, we're also in the process of getting ready to move so a lot of my stuff is packed away.  I have felt and beads I can play with, but none of the stuff I want to work on from my list is accessible.  so, it's just me and my cross stitch.

I've been seeing a LOT of tutorials and stuff on Pinterest lately using these beads.  I need to know where I can find them!!!
