291  Black Horse and the Cherry Tree - KT Tunstall in CHALLENGE 36 ENTRIES by Krafty_Karasu on: March 02, 2009 10:13:58 AM
I'm sure you have at least a slight idea of what I've crafted going by the title alone.   Wink

shouldn't be hard to forget: a black horse and a cherry tree...kinda.  my original pattern had the horse standing in front of the tree's trunk, but my brown is called dark chocolate and the shade was too close to the black that it would have all just created one dark mess.  so I just used the tree branches.

this is a combination of the Little Mermaid wall hanging I did a while back and an idea I had for a necklace I needed to make to go with a pair of earrings I already made.

I loved this song from the minute I heard it.  no real meaning, I just loved the beat and the sound.

292  Twilight inspired stuff *image hefty* updated in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Krafty_Karasu on: January 18, 2009 08:36:07 AM
finally here it all is.  the pictures aren't the greatest, but I just can't help moving when I take pictures.   Undecided

first we have an E for Edward necklace and earring set.  the tiny seed beads on the jumprings are topaz and black for the colors of his eyes (they were a serious pain to use).

then we have my stretchy Edward Cullen bracelet.  nothing fancy, just his name and beads in the color of his hungry eyes.

next, tear drop-shaped crystals in the colors of Edwards eyes.  my first necklace using a toggle clasp as the focal point.  I'd been wanting to use those locks and keys.

another necklace of Edward's eye colors.  all of the other necklaces use Swarovski crystals.  this one uses Czech glass beads with Swarovski as the earrings.

I had made a topic just for the next item, but I'm throwing it in here too.
a Twilight inspired bookmark

then a New Moon inspired bookmark.  it's not really pink, it's a reflection off my blinds.

Eclipse bookmark

Breaking Dawn bookmark.  yes, that's even a tiny pink bow on the key.

if vampires could cry (like they do in Kindred: The Embraced), then I think they'd cry tears of blood.  modeled after the Phoenix Tears necklace I made for a Harry Potter swap, here's Vampire's Tears

and last we have Blood Drops

hope you like.   Smiley

293  Twilight inspired bookmark in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Krafty_Karasu on: January 08, 2009 11:20:21 PM
I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of this!!!

I just got Twilight for Christmas (and am going through withdrawals because I'm done with it and can't find any of the others.  stupid Christmas craze...) and while picking through my beads looking to see what I had for no reason in particular, I found the seed bead (it really is a seed drilled through to make a bead) and some of the other random red beads (that pink looking one really is red) and it dawned on me.  I have seen others use keys in their Twilight pieces and I remembered that I had some key charms.  I threw it all together (in a jumbled mess that left me wanting to change it) and this is what I came up with!  I absolutely LOVE this bookmark!

the only white thing I had laying around was a 9 1/2" x 6" notebook.  I couldn't exactly take a picture of this thing against my red walls or my red carpet.  Tongue

it's a little less than 5" tall.  notice the tiny "blood drop" on the end of the key.  I love that the most.   Grin

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked
I have been spoiled!!!!!!!!!  my day went from blah to I can't stop smiling!!!  if you couldn't tell, it's because I recieved from drinkdrankdrunk today and everything is freaking AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!  get ready to be amazed.

first we have the box everything came in.  yup, I was in love from the first moment I set eyes on the box.   Tongue

the first thing I found was the snitch stocking with a little note on it and lots of goodies inside.  the note reads "Dobby decided to make you a stocking for this Christmas!  He hand sewed it himself, but thinks its wonkieness adds to it charm."  I love it!  inside I found a Hello Kitty pen, Hello Kitty charm, Hello Kitty winter stickers, my very own wand (woot!!!), 2 sleeping masks one naughty one nice, some Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans (finally!!!  I've been needing some Harry Potter candy!) and a Harry Potter keychain.

next we have a pair of spell bags.  the note reads "These are spell bags, in case the wand that chose you feels picky.  You can just [throw] a bag at the no good hoodlem!"  so loverly.   Cheesy

gotta love it.  got to freaking love it!!!  a Harry Potter doll.  OMG.  "This is a hand sewn Harry Potter black apple doll.  He has no mouth, but that shouldn't stop him from saving all mankind."  this may NEVER leave my sight.  I may have slipped back into my childhood, back to when I had a favorite toy that went with me everywhere...

I love this.  I think I've found my new bag.  YAY!  "A couple of red headed twins thought you might like this bag...It'll help get into some well deserved trouble."  boy were they right.  I've been wanting something that had to do with the Marauder's Map.  she answered my unvoiced prayers.   Grin

and lastly, the best freaking thing EVER.  I mean...EVER!!!

my very own BLACK Monster Book of Monsters.  "Hagrid has left you the last copy of The Monster Book of Monsters.  It's become tame in its old age, so you won't have to worry about losing all your fingers."  as you can see, she took the time to hollow out the inside of the book and even included my very own phoenix quill.

I absolutely LOVE my stuff.  after I was done opening everything, I was laughing so much I was nearly in tears.  I couldn't believe what I was finding in that box.  it's all amazing and the only thing that could have made me happier is if Daniel had been in the box too.   Tongue  oh well.  I'll just cuddle with my Harry doll.   Wink

thank you again, drinkdrankdrunk.  you are amazing.   Grin

296  Gryffindor/Phoenix picture frame in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Krafty_Karasu on: December 08, 2008 09:08:05 PM
so this is the final product.  I made the phoenix from polyclay and posted it here in the correct topic since the phoenix was finished and made from clay.  since the finished piece is something you'd use to decorate a room, it's here.   Smiley

so, what do you think?

crap-tastic teaser time!

it's crap-tastic because all of my pictures came out so BLURRY!!!   Cry

ok...so I sorta fixed the blurriness.  problem is...some of the pictures had to be made pretty small.   Sad  hopefully when my partner gets her stuff, she'll get better pictures.

298  HP swap item - polyclay phoenix *updated!* in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Krafty_Karasu on: December 02, 2008 12:04:20 AM
my partner received her package, so I can now show off this item.   Grin

this is my first real attempt at working with polyclay...whether you want to believe it or not after looking at this.

my Harry Potter swap partner likes phoenixes, and it just so happens that I had found this really pretty project in one of my jewelry making magazines.  it's called "Two Turtle Doves" by polyclay artist Christi Friesen (http://www.cforiginals.net/)

I thought this would make a great opportunity to make a phoenix for my partner.  so...I did.

this is pre-varnish, so it's not as bright of a red in this pic as it is in real life (and the top of the wing doesn't look so weird).  plus, it's kinda hard to see the sparkles.  I used cherry red and red effects Fimo.  this thing measures about 6"x3".

tell me what you think   Smiley

now you can see the finished product here!

I do have a picture that I took before sending that I can post:

the white one I have dubbed "Snowball" because, well, that's what it reminds me of.   Grin
