new card!  Grin

from kartiana, "Tank!".  it's from the theme song for Cowboy Bebop.  if you're curious, here's the song.

it totally fits the style of Cowboy Bebop, and the song is great.  and so is the show/movie!!!  and then of course there's Ein, the Corgi!!!  lol

thank you SO much, kartiana!  I love my card!!!

so...

Craftster is being weird.  to anyone that has messaged me in the last three days; I'M NOT IGNORING YOU!!!  Craftster just isn't letting me know about new messages for some reason.  Cry  anyone else having trouble?

I did get three new cards today though.  I will send messages and post pics in a minute!

ok!  here we go!

first that surreal card is fascinating.  I don't think I've seen anything like that before.

second, my new cards!

from rockingbearranch for my crow theme

kinda reminiscent of my user name, eh?  a crow on a spool of thread.  kinda tells me the crow is crafty.  Wink  and a little key too!  you snuck another of my themes in there.  lol

from pottermouth (a fellow Spawn fan!!!) for my Spawn theme

love my new Spawn card!!!  I've actually been a fan since the live-action movie (as rough as that could be to watch).  I moved on to action figures and such later, AFTER I got the idea of what Spawn was about.

from Susie Apple for my Halloween theme

isn't that little ghostie ADORABLE?!  and look at the candy corn background!!!  she even sent a vampire extra!  how cool is this guy?!

thank you all SO much!!!

now I'm off to work on more cards.  I got a little behind.  :-/  stupid job...

that fool card is AWESOME!  lol

and that night sky...WOW!  I'm seriously impressed with what people can do with watercolor (I too am questioning if it's watercolor because I never know unless someone tells me).

my turn again!

I got a lovely weird America card from loca4crafts today!  THANK YOU FOR NOT PUTTING GLITTER ON IT!!!  lol.  I don't know if I could have handled that today.  as much as I love glitter, inventorying Christmas glitter picks at Michaels makes me loathe glitter for a while (and that's exactly what I did today.  thank the gods they don't have their full stock of those picks yet.  but there are glittery Halloween ones to do tomorrow).  lol.  but then I get over it and I'm all "OMG GLITTER YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!".

first there's the front picture.  a card about the Oregon Country Fair. (loca4crafts says "it promotes sustainability, peace, and is basically a big hippie festival"):

next up, a mudman.  "the mud people wear very little clothing, cover themselves in mud and wander around the OCF grounds acting like cavemen":

then we have a couple of people dressed up as cute monsters and the wooded setting the OCF takes place in.  pretty isn't it?

unfortunately the last picture was slightly stuck to the inside and tore a little.  but that's ok.  the damage isn't too bad and you can still see the pretty trees.

thank you SO much, loca4crafts!!!  that's two very nifty/weird things from Oregon and Washington so far.  I NEED MORE!!!  FROM EVERY STATE!!!  lol

I got another card today!!!

I present Helena from the show Orphan Black titled, "I Like Your Hairs".  if you haven't seen Orphan Black...WHY?!  go find it!  watch it!  love it!!!  Cheesy  Ginger Snaps fans will get the references in the show.  Wink

curiousfae did this in watercolors!!!  isn't it great?!  and that's the reference picture below it.  I just love this character so much.  she's crazy and wild, but she's also hysterical.

so now go.  watch Orphan Black.

why are you still sitting there?!  GO!!!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I GOT A CARD!  I GOT A CARD!!!

oh I'm so excited to have my very first ATC after 6+ years!!!

LimeRiot made a representation of the Pike Place Gum Wall!  it's an alley wall in downtown Seattle, WA covered in used chewing gum, and people will visit to add their own!  while weird and gross, it's actually pretty cool, and the card shows how colorful and abstract the design really is.  no, I've never seen the wall for myself, but I found it on that wonderful website curiousfae mentioned when she posted her card from me.  Gum Wall on Atlas Obscura.

she wrapped it in a bit of paper with (I'm assuming) Japanese writing on it.  I would say I've gotta use it for something, but every time I get stuff like this, I can't ever bear to cut it up!!!  lol

thank you SO much, LimeRiot!

7  Ariel Cross Stitch and Mermaid-inspired Frame in Completed Projects by Krafty_Karasu on: July 25, 2016 09:27:04 PM
I'm putting this under miscellaneous because of the frame.  had I just put it in a plain frame, I'd have gone with "needlework".  Wink

I was inspired to make the frame when I saw this link on Pinterest (I plan on making that too just to hang on my wall, but I need to wait for Halloween costumes to be in stores...which should be any day now).

I found this cute little Ariel pattern (via Beads&Stitch) and decided to make it. Of course the base is mint tissue paper mod podged onto a frame (that was brown so I had to paint it white), then I coated it in two layers of crystal glitter paint and one coat of aqua glitter mixed with mod podge. Then I spread more mod podge on the corner, covered it in gold glitter (that got EVERYWHERE and I will be finding it months from now), and added some seashells, beach glass, and faux pearls. I'm going to hang it on my wall. That's why I added stuff to the bottom of the frame.

it's 2.5in X 3.5in on 18 count Aida.

hope you like!

my latest creation.  I found these nifty 14 count cross stitch canvases and I had to have them (I still need to pick up the white ones).  they're about 6in X 6in with a roughly 4.5in X 4.5in stitching area.  this piece is based on the video game Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly.
