1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Matchbook Sewing Kit (with pattern) on: November 27, 2012 12:01:29 PM
I just cut mine out of Tyvek paper and folded it up to get an idea of what it will look like finished.  Did you ever get around to writing a tute for construction of the matchbook once it's all printed and cut?

I'm a bit confused on how you make it sturdier.  Do I simply glue the front to the back?  Where does the support insert go?

Sorry for all the questions.  I'm a bit 'delayed' when it comes to figuring this stuff out.  LOL!

Also, Where can I buy those teeny tiny grommets and teeny tiny brads?

Thanks if advance.   Kiss

Love it!!

How did you make the straps so long?  Was it a long sleeved T?

Pamelabd--Did you use a pattern for that bag?  I LOVE it!   Wouldn't mind making one myself.

I got my swap box today!  WahooO!!  Thanks Mizell!

Here are some pics (all are clickable to enlarge)

Everything together in the box.

An awesome knit neck warmer/cowl and matching hat

A thoughtful notebook filled with frugal tips!

A wool dryer ball, nicely felted

A cool pendant (Pheonix) already on the neck of my daughter (sorry for the crappy picture)

A wool felted clutch pouch (hand sewn)

Cotton dish cloths

A super cool spare change can....great for tossing your pocket change into.  (LOVE the decoupage)

And possibly my favorite.....wool from Zorro, the llama!!!  It is so freakin' SOFT!!

I already tried out the wool in some needle felting.  It's so so soft.  Zorro is the bomb.  The dishcloth is hanging from the faucet, having done the dishes at lunchtime.

Thank you Mizell!!

Can the contact paper treated fabric be washed in the washing machine?

OMG!  I LOVE the recipe box!  So clever.

I am in awe of the things I've seen.  This was my first swap and I'm finding this group of talented crafters simply  amazing!

Smiley Smiley  Thanks, Mizell.  I'm so glad you like it!

It was super fun to try and figure out what someone else would like.  And it was all made from my fabric stash!!  I am a fabric-a-holic).  I'm glad the sling fit you.  Here are the pics I took before I sent it along.

Kiss my Butt baby wipes (in custom pop-up container)

Heavy "doodie" terry/velour wipes

Made from scraps from the sling fabric

Nursing pads (or drink coasters)  Wink

Shopping bags (that even a man would use)

Dryer scent pouches

A small extra (pin)

I'm such a slacker!  Finished last week with all my items but haven't got the box ready to ship.  The stuff is all near the box...does that count?

Things to do today:
Prepare box for shipping
Go to Post Office

Frugal tip for the day:
Remember when we learned that boiling veggies takes away all the vitamins and nutrients?   Well, even when I steam my veggies, the water under the steamer takes on the color of the veggies.  Instead of throwing out that nutrient enriched water, use it to water your houseplants.  They'll benefit from your culinary delights, too!!   Grin
