1  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Stairway light on: December 19, 2010 07:55:22 AM
How pretty! Does it significantly change the lighted color of the room?
2  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Glass magnets - petri dishes! on: December 19, 2010 07:53:42 AM
I made these flat glass magnets for my boyfriend's SIL for Christmas. She's a microbiologist and will really enjoy these! I mounted them on a magnetic dry-erase board and labelled them so she'll know what's what, just in case. Images from www.giantmicrobes.com

Note: the unlabelled one on the bottom is HPV, I ruined the label and have to re-print it.

3  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Days of the Week Undies #2 (SEND OUT 8 Nov & 10 Dec) ) on: November 28, 2010 03:48:14 PM
Whoops, forgot to be posting but I did send a PM.

I've got three complete undies and two days off Monday and Tuesday, things are going well.
4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Cat stocking, first stencil on: November 12, 2010 03:57:56 PM
I read up on this forum today about how to stencil and was inspired to have my hand at it. Behold, my first attempt - a pretty good start, I feel, albeit lopsided. BF and I will be filling it with goodies for his family's cats before we go to their place at Christmas.

Fat black one - Niki pickles
Black with booties - Miranda the panda
Grey with missing tail - Piper
Tabby - Widgit

I'm most pleased with Widgit, the multicolor was a challenge.
5  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Candy Corn Tutu Dress & Leg Warmers on: October 29, 2010 07:54:51 AM
One thing I definatley want to try now is making leg warmers out of old socks.

This entire project was too cute!

I've already washed mine, since they were a brand I wasn't familiar with I had to try 'em on after a wash to check for shrinkage.
7  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Re: spooky canelabra on: October 21, 2010 11:14:01 AM
I love how something that was once "hideous" can be pretty darn neat. I think it'd be pretty for a year round item if the spiders came off (but I'm biased against them)

Hope it gets lots of admiration for the holiday!

That's really neat. Did you carve out the design all the way through the shell, or is it only a flesh wound?
9  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Non-Scary Scarecrow on: October 19, 2010 03:19:07 PM
I made a scarecrow with my mother today, she got a bonus at work for bringing in a neat holiday themed decoration.

The work in progress was too full of straw for me to remember to take progress pics, but this is what my mother's kitchen looked like afterwards (it was raining outside today so it became an indoors project. Silly us).

When he was all stuffed, tied up, and decorated (mostly, there was some stuff we waited until he was at his new home to do), he had a hug for me

and a Kiss!

We loaded him carefully into the car

and set him up at his new home outside of our gas station.

10  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: A Green Idea Chain Game 2010 on: October 14, 2010 08:41:18 AM
What can I do with a giant magnet from the back of a blown out subwoofer?

How big is this, and what shape is it? You could put some pictures and a clear acrylic top over it, so it can double as a paperweight/picture frame and paperclip holder for a desk. A multi-tool!

I've got a bunch of pens that were kind of cheap and don't write anymore, what could I do with them if I took the ink out and jstt had the plastic tube?
