31  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Imbolc Garden Dreams - WWP Swap 55 (Signup thru Jan. 2; sendout Jan. 24)) on: February 01, 2015 09:30:35 AM
Wow, that was fast, Emily! How can Lynda's package get to you from Wales in so much less time than your package across the border to Canada?

I think leaving the next swap til Beltane seems like a good solution. And maybe we can stir up a little interest among the WWP group by then, to attract more participants.

Wulf

That was really fast! It has always taken about 13 days or so for my international packages to get to the recipients. Causes me a lot of anxiety.  Huh

I'm just glad it got there on time!

I've been thinking about the next WWP swap, and although Ostara is a great favourite, I wonder if we still have a large enough group of interested swappers to support doing them for all eight sabbats right now. The past several swaps have been a half-dozen or less, and that means mostly the same core group of people swapping with each other over and over. Sad Perhaps a solution would be to skip the solstices and equinoxes this year and try to draw bigger groups for Beltane, Lammas and Samhain.

Wulf

seems a good idea

...I am a bit confused by the weights, as worsted seems a bit thinner but I have adapted...

As far as I knew worsted is 10ply and double knit (DK) is 8ply.

yes that's the gauge I use
..
we do have soft acrylics here in the UK thank goodness, as although I spin /knit for others in wool I can't wear it myself as I come out on a rash!
I knit / crochet lots of throws / blankets in lovely soft acrylics, which wash and wear well.
..
I must try this spiral pattern sometime soon, as it looks so lovely  Grin

Can we talk about Ostra?  Anyone to host?Huh  If not, I can, but do we want large, small or not at all???

Thoughts?

I love these WWP swaps ... so yes I'd love an Ostara one ..  Smiley

However, I am aware that I seem to be the only European joining in at the moment  and do worry about costs  to send to  me here in the UK and me to send elsewhere.
While I'm usually happy to send elsewhere, I try to keep it lightweight.

Just wondering where all the other Europeans have gone  Huh

No progress so far on making flags due to things going on at home, but I have collected materials and I am drawing out my ideas.
Hope to get the sewing machine and my embroidery kit out this weekend and make my first flag

Sorry it's taken me so long to post photos ... 'real life' interfering again!

Anyway here are the photos of the WONDERFUL items Wulf sent me ... a fantastic, detailed, creative package , totally tailored to my likes  Grin

Moongazing Hare Moonlight Garden plaque ... this is going to hang in my  back yard, which will be turned into a moon garden later this year.

Lovely hammered spoon and fork plant markers ... which will be used in the new herb tubs in my front garden

A string of 8 flags .. bees and sunflowers my favourites ... which will probably hand in my back yard too, over the wildflower tubs or on my shed at my allotment

he also sent me a page on moon garden plants for my BOS (which I forgot to photograph, sorry)

Thanks for being a great partner again Wulf, and for sending all the way to Wales ;0)

still planning and collecting stuff ..one ready to start tomorrow

I will probably mail separately as the flags are done, as if I wait to send them all at once I'm sure to find out I don't have enough envelopes or something and they'll be delayed even longer.
Wulf

I'll be doing this too.
