31  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Dress from a japanese pattern on: July 10, 2008 07:27:30 AM
Here's a dress I made for my 2 year old. I used a pattern from a Japanese sewing book. I started by sketching it:

Here's the finished dress:

The flowers are computer designed and machine embroidered:

32  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects / 8 bit final fantasy black mage embroidery on: July 07, 2008 01:12:34 PM
My very first machine embroidery project. I wanted to add some personality to my school bag - everyone got the same bag for free at the beginning of the semester.

Geek enough for you?
I couldn't find a good reference at the time, that's why his arms are all messed up.
33  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Baby dress from a skirt on: July 03, 2008 07:26:28 PM
I made this dress for my friend's 10 months old daughter. It's from an old linen skirt. I didn't use a pattern, I just copied one of her dresses.
The sea turtle is computer designed and machine embroidered but the picture kinda ruined it.  Angry

34  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / At least she knows what she wants on: June 28, 2008 02:05:26 PM
My daughter is always hanging out on youtube with her dad, watching animal movies.
When I asked her what she wanted on her next hat, she said a beluga!
So here goes...

It's embroidered and hand painted. The hat lining is made from an old sheet. Cheesy

35  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Hat for my two years old - with brim tutorial on: June 25, 2008 01:23:01 PM
I've tried to make hats before but it ended horribly. Cry
This is the first one I'm not ashamed of. I used a modified version of McCall's M4478, hat A.

Scroll down for brim tutorial.
36  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / A simple bag for grocery shopping - now with tutorial on p.2 on: June 21, 2008 04:36:43 PM
I copied one of my sister's bags and used super cheap fabric to test the pattern.
It has a small pocket for money.
Not a very fancy bag but I'm happy with the result. I'll use prettier fabric next time.

37  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Little dress from a sweater on: June 20, 2008 06:10:08 AM
Here's a dress I just made for my two years old. It's from a sweater I wasn't wearing anymore.  The flowers are designed in Corel draw and machine embroidered.
