21  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects / Princess Zelda bookmark on: December 06, 2008 09:51:51 PM
I made this bookmark for the Zelda swap.
I drew the character in photoshop and used my digitizing software's cross-stitch function. I had to tweak the design many times before it finally worked.  Smiley

22  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Totoro scarf on: December 04, 2008 06:41:16 PM
I made this one for my daughter yesterday. She squealed when she saw it! I may make some more for a swap (shop the swap 21).

It's made of polar fleece and the Totoro is machine embroidered.
23  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / My first handspun on: November 18, 2008 10:38:24 AM
This candy colored yarn is my first attempt at spinning (except for a 15 min. lesson at a yarn store nearby).
My 3 year old chose the colors and we dyed the roving together.
Now I'm absolutely hooked!

24  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Discussion and Questions / Anybody interested in testing my designs? CLOSED FOR THE TIME BEING on: October 28, 2008 06:50:32 PM
EDIT
Thanks for your help everyone!
I will no longer be sending the designs - final exams and swap deadlines are taking up most of my free time.  Embarrassed

---

I've been digitizing for a while and I'd like to know if my designs work well on other embroidery machines (I own a Janome MC350E).
I'm looking for people to try them (for free, of course) and tell me about the results.
I hope this isn't the wrong place to post this. I'm not selling anything.

Here are the designs. I created all of them from scratch.
Please pm me if you'd like to try one:

Thanks!
25  CANADA / Quebec / Anybody interested in an Embellisher machine for needle felting? on: October 22, 2008 06:27:55 AM
I just got a 100$ coupon for buying this machine but I already own one so I don't need it.
I'll give the coupon for free to any fellow craftster who's interested.
Unfortunately the offer is only good until nov. 5, 2008 and you'd have to come to Club tissus, Laval to pick up the machine.

I just took an Embellisher course with Ema Nobuko, whose work you can see here:

http://www.emanobuko.net/englishcollection.html

It's a fun and relaxing craft to do (and of course you don't have to stick to her romantic style - it makes very cool gothic ornaments for example).

Please PM me if interested.
26  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Embroidered top from a japanese pattern on: September 29, 2008 04:08:27 PM
The original pattern is from a Japanese sewing book but I changed it a lot. I also embellished it with free motion embroidery.
The fabric is sheer and very comfortable so I'll probably use it as sleepwear.

Here's the result:

27  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Discussion and Questions / Digitizing software on: August 18, 2008 06:40:48 AM
I'm looking for a good digitizing software that allows detailed stitch edition. Can anybody recommend one that isn't too expensive?
28  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects / Totoro embroidery on: August 12, 2008 03:25:28 PM
My daughter loves that movie!
Next time I sew a garment for her, I'll decorate it with a Totoro embroidery.

I'm not entirely happy with how the umbrella turned out so I'll probably tweak it a little. I'll use brighter colors too.
29  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / It's potty training time! Now with link to tutorial. on: August 10, 2008 11:39:15 AM
I used old t-shirt fabric to sew these for my two year old. Let's hope it'll motivate her! Cheesy

30  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Shorts with appliqué on: July 16, 2008 11:58:36 AM
Some shorts I made for my two year old. The appliqué was cut in a tablecloth I got from goodwill. It had beautiful embroidery but I didn't like the colors so I dyed it first. I've never sewn an appliqué before, it was fun!
