2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / License plate mailbox on: August 19, 2009 04:56:39 PM
About a year ago i saw a license plate mailbox for sale on some website for about $300 and I really loved it but it wasn't the kind that was wall mounted so I didn't get it. (i also didn't want to spend $300 for a mailbox)

A few weeks ago I made a california mailbox and I kinda over did it and made a few more. Here is a picture of the one I have mounted.

the design is really simple but they are a pain in the butt to make. after making a few of these i have realized i am not as strong as i thought i was, i had to get my dad to break some of the rivets for me.

4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Bibs, Diaper bag, and Changing pad. on: October 05, 2008 02:03:02 PM
Yesterday was my cousins baby shower and I decided I would make her a gift. At first I was only going to make her some baby bibs, but then I decided to make a changing pad, bibs, and a diaper bag. She is also a student so I figure until the baby is born she can use it for college. I am still pretty new to sewing so there are a few mistakes but she really loved the gifts.

Changing pad. The back is fleece and it is covered with fusible vinyl.

the Velcro closure

The baby bibs, I made two of each print. It was pretty interesting making these, I am not used to doing curves so it was good practice.  Grin

This is the diaper bag.

Inside the bag. This was my first time making elastic pockets and zippered pockets

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My first sewing projects on: September 12, 2008 10:35:55 AM
So this is my first time posting on this board, I have made purses before but those were made of either pop tabs, or hubcaps and license plates. Since i am starting college soon i needed a messenger bag, and i do have one that works great and i love it but it is to small to carry my laptop so i made these two. i made alot of mistakes when making these but i still love them both.

this one is about 16" x 12" x 5"

This one is a small one about 12" x 10" x 3"

And here is the messenger bag i have been using for about a year but is too small  Sad (i did not make this one)

8  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Clay, Paint, feathers, and stones OH MY on: August 01, 2008 12:52:11 AM
My dad bought these molds for these figures about 11 years ago when i was 7. and when we moved a month later we lost them in all the boxes of craft stuff we have. so i was raiding our garage a few weeks ago and i found them YEY!. So i just used the molds with white polymer clay, and then painted them and added feathers and stones and this is what i ended up with. kinda weird but i like them.

on the wall with some of the wooden figures my dad has collected. he has a few hundred lol
