1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Need Ideas for Dress for Wedding on THURSDAY!! 7-02 on: June 27, 2009 06:17:52 PM
Hey guys! I'm in such a bind. I need a dress to wear to a wedding on Thursday and I don't want to buy one. I am starting my own business and I would really like to stay focused and not spend any extra money. I have a slight addiction to retail therapy and once I'm in the mall it could get ugly hehe!

Anyway, my dilemma is, I have a wedding to go to this Thursday 7-02 and I need a dress I could sew in that little time that I have. Not to mention, I have a toddler so anything I can get done in a couple of nights while he is sleeping would be great. Any tutorials would be a great help. I have a degree in fashion but I'd still consider myself a novice sewer but I can get by enough to make a nice dress for this event. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN!!

Thanks in advance!!  Grin
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Rhinestone hoodie for bride. Any tutorials? on: May 30, 2009 10:18:16 AM
Hey, everyone! My bff is getting married in about 2 months and for her bridal shower I would really like to custom make a sweatsuit for her to take on her honeymoon. She can wear it on the plane ride or just wear the hoodie when it gets chilly at night. I want it to say "Mrs...(her hubby's last name) and then est. and her wedding date"

I want to handset the stones myself because the hotfix script stones I've found are not cute at all and mostly come in all caps! I figure I would have to trace out the words on the hoodie and then set the stones. Does anyone have a clue where to start with this project?

Thanks in advance!!

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / High Waisted Honey Skirt on: August 25, 2008 09:01:53 AM
I love this skirt! It was so easy to make and its great to twirl in! I used a Burdastyle how to for a quick party skirt but I used knit and left out the zipper instructions!! It still needs a hem...

My lil' cousin Keiko modeled it for me

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My Sophie Dress on: August 25, 2008 08:58:17 AM
So, I was mega inspired (as I always am) while browsing Girlshop.com. Love the clothes but not the prices. There was a gray dress on the site paired with black leather boots and  a ridiculously oversized black leather bag! This is my interpretation. It looks a lil' romantic without the fixings but I think I'd wear it with the leather for a lil edge maybe on a night out in the city! Maybe for my bday in a month...

Maryy from burdastyle has a great how to for the bust of the dress. Its called bust of heat dress!! Special thx to her and my lil cousin keiko who modeled it!

Thanx for looking!!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / LIKE MOTHER LIKE DAUGHTER DRESSES on: June 18, 2008 01:17:55 PM
Well...not really lol. I had some fabric that I wanted to finish up and I made this dress in a 4t from a SIMPLICITY pattern (I'm thinking of putting a rhinestone in the middle of the flower) and then I made myself an elastic tube dress SANS pattern with the rest. I have a 7 month old son but I design little girls clothing. Too bad I have no1 to model it...

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Elastic Tube Dress on: June 17, 2008 07:45:12 PM
So, I make childrens clothing. I love making lil' girls clothes. I got this blue plaid fabric and bought wayyyy too much so I'm looking for ways to use it up. So far I've made a girls dress which isnt exactly finished and a tube dress with side seam pockets that was super easy to make and looks really great with waist belts. I think I will make a tote next and possibly some baby bloomers lol. (they really need to be pressed and steamed..I KNOW LOL)
